Well that marked the end of our brief two years as a serious country again. Well done everyone.
Back to vibes, shits and giggles it is.
Britain is done.
I am ashamed.
I have read both letters, carefully and several times. As someone who loves this country and who is fighting to build something of my own here, I cannot help but notice the massive difference in character between these two men who, until yesterday, were leading our nation.
I am not writing this as a political analyst, but as a voter and a citizen who values people with character.
Wes's letter is full of 'I'.
I cut the waiting lists, I recruited the staff, I was successful.
Then, in the same breath, he attacks the team he was part of. If the situation was truly that bad, why did he not stay to fix it? Why did he not have the courage to stand for election and say: 'I have a better vision, elect me'?
Instead, he chose to walk away at the very moment we need stability most, feeding the media the drama they love so much. That is not protecting the party. It is protecting his own career.
On the other hand, Starmer’s response reminded me why I trusted him. He did not stoop to insults. He did not defend himself. He simply reminded Wes that those successes in the NHS were a collective effort.
Starmer showed what I admire most in the British, decency. Dignity. He remained the adult in the room, focused on us, the citizens, while Wes remained focused on his next job title.
Politics should be about us, about the people who pay their taxes and hope for a better future, not about who can best 'twist the knife' in a resignation letter.
Wes has shown his true face, and Starmer has shown that the stability of the country matters more than his personal ego.
That is what gives me hope that we will not allow chaos and populists to take the helm.
And just like that, the very wealthiest party in the U.K. backed by foreign billionaires is supported by the very poorest members of society who dislike foreigners. You couldn’t make this shit up.
History lesson for Trump:
In 1939, Churchill asked America for help to fight the Nazis. America refused.
Churchill continued to ask in 1940 & 1941 as Europe fell.
Not until Pearl Harbour did America jon Britain in WW2.
*Then they leased us food & armaments*.
We paid until 2006.
“For all we know, we could be in the middle of Keir Starmer’s finest hour”.
Starmer’s critics say he is imperiling the UK’s special relationship with the US...
But is it Donald Trump who's doing the damage?

"He has received almost no journalistic scrutiny throughout his entire career till very recently"
"He's not that cuddle cosy golf club English pub figure"
"He is in a relationship with the US far right and with the European pro-Kremlin far right"
"What happened in Brexit, we saw that money that force that influence, those networks coming together"
"It was the first real political campaign in the UK run through these online platforms"

"Our constitution changes, the shape of Europe changed, our national security changed"
"And here is Nigel Farage in this pole position now, to potentially take power and we're not understanding the consequences of that"
"If you look at what Trump is doing in the US, the way he had a plan of what to do in office"
"Farage is now working with the same people"
"There is going to be an all out assault in the same way on the rule of law and our institutions"
Zack Polanski, "It's already happening"

My attendance record in the European Parliament was the 4th worst out of 751 MEPs, yet I managed to turn up to vote AGAINST plans to tackle Russian misinformation.
Thankfully this is of no interest to the media.
Norwich City dismiss Liam Manning. On the day Jack Wilshere makes it four wins on the spin at Luton Town. Wilshere had hoped for the Norwich job after a well-received two-game caretaker stint. Norwich felt inexperienced Wilshere a risk. But Manning isn’t the sole issue here. Norwich’s sporting director Ben Knapper under huge pressure from fans to get the next appointment right.
Fans understandably angry, and protested outside Carrow Road after their 11th game without a win. Nine points from 15 Championship games, four points from safety. As Knapper says in @NorwichCityFC statement “results and performances on the pitch haven’t been good enough. We accept that responsibility, but it’s now imperative that we start to repair the relationship with our supporters and do everything we can to give them something to get behind”.
Lot of repairing to do. Fans asking how much experience did Knapper have doing analysis and scouting at Arsenal, also doing a loans and pathway role, to justify Norwich responsibility in charge of recruitment of players and head coach. Anyway, good luck to Ryan Garry (ex coach of England U17s with Nwaneri, Lewis-Skelly and Dibling) placed in temporary charge. #OTBC
Had to happen but make no mistake there's lots of stuff that is wrong at the minute, Manning will take the brunt because he didn't effect anything in a positive way but everyone needs to have a long hard looks at themselves! #Ncfc
