I don’t spend a lot of time on this app anymore, and today’s a great example of why. Some “fans” on here are posting as if we’d lost. If you can’t enjoy beating Chelsea, why do you even bother?
This Liverpool side are going to be the worst team to with the Premier League in quite some time. Incredible what a few key injuries and awful red card decisions did to our title challenge.
Honestly, I don’t understand how people can blame anything other than the injuries. Name me a single squad in the world that wouldn’t struggle with 4/6 of their best attackers out?
So it’s possible that Martinelli only misses three games: Leicester (A), West Ham (H), Forest (A). Possible return date of March 9 v. United, a day some have pencilled in as a potential Saka return as well.
I guess this is an interesting hypothetical: are Arsenal right not to (over)spend this January if it means we bring in a trio of Isak, Zubimendi, and Williams in the summer? Mokbel’s article suggests that’s what’s at stake here.
I think I’ve said this before, but the problem with VAR is that they’re getting a second opinion on a judgment call rather than letting the on-field official see the call himself. Semi-automatic offsides and challenge system fixes most of the issues, I think.
I don’t want to understate how big it is having Nwaneri return to the lineup. As long as he didn’t have any flare-ups as a result of his minutes yesterday, he starts on the weekend (probably playing ~60 mins.).
@fkhanage @AMonFootball I thought that would be the option we would go with too, but the disruption is not minimal. You move Gabriel to the right, now he has a new side, new partnerships on both sides, and MLS is playing beside our weakest CB option. Kiwior has not played much at CB since joining us.
