It was a great day yesterday for Cannabis Nurses at Society of Cannabis Clinicians conference sharing on the emerging speciality and the future of cannabis nursing!
@CannaClinicians
@CannaClinicians is having their event this weekend and some of our members will be there speaking & tabling! We are also proud sponsors! https://t.co/VGYrGZlg1N
… #FunFacts: Did you know that the first endogenous cannabinoid receptor, CB1, was only identified in 1988, followed by the discovery of the second receptor, CB2, in 1993? (THC was 1964, CBD in 1963).
The history of cannabis as medicine is quite new, and most practicing clinicians today have not been taught anything about this fundamental communication/signaling system, despite it being an evolutionarily conserved system, present not only in humans but also in a variety of other species, including birds, fish, amphibians, and reptiles. Even some invertebrates, like sea urchins and mollusks!
In our August newsletter we highlighted our new educational sponsor Holistic Caring & The Green Nurse as a provider of educational resources. Their programs and services align with our mission to advance excellence in cannabis nursing practice.
