The goals were pretty clear for Cannon this offseason—prepare him for a full professional reliever workload, clean up the velo inconsistency he showed last season, and work to get him dialed in the zone. He decided to hit 100 just because.

Imagine taking a gap year after high school in the upper 80’s, and 2 years later you’ve touched 99 and sign to play professional baseball with the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Every so often, it’s a good time to give credit to the savage who went from a labrum repair to upper 90’s over the next year. Maybe one of my favorite journeys to have been apart of with some crazy ups and downs.
@cannonpickell
Maybe a secret to some, but certainly not to the Padres.
Brandon Langley is the 11th (and maybe final) player to sign with San Diego as an UDFA.
He overtakes Garrett Hawkins as the organization's biggest guy born in Saskatchewan.
What a day for Cullowhee and mountain baseball! FOUR @Catamounts were drafted (most since 2009) ahead of WNC native Cal Raleigh, winning the home run derby with Catamount player and coach alum - his father - Todd Raleigh pitching!

DRAFTED! @Catamounts RHP Dusty Revis was selected by the Seattle @Mariners in the 11th round of the 2025 Major League Baseball Draft. Revis struck out 121 over two seasons in #CatamountCountry!
The Mariners snag Dusty Revis in the 11th round. Surefire bullpen arm with some of the traits to build a starter around. Probably begins his career in the rotation.
