Badenoch is everything I hoped Pierre would be.
Man is just an attack dog however. I really wish he would show decorum like this
especially in a country where sadly, decorum is more important than substance .
I wish Andy Burnham every success as Prime Minister. But it is my job to hold him to account.
Every announcement he makes should be properly funded. We cannot borrow more money and the tax burden is already too high, so the only answer is spending cuts.
I will work with him in the national interest to find savings from the benefits bill. If we reach agreement, my Conservative MPs will vote for those cuts in Parliament. That's the way to get Britain working.
Canada runs a quiet ledger between generations.
You draw from it as a kid, pay in through your working years, and draw again in retirement.
We almost never look at it directly.
Given the dialog yesterday, and my belief that we currently undervalue children and families, I used CIHI and Statistics Canada data to ask a question:
Who gives, who gets, how much, and when?
The ledger, in charts. đđ§”(1/4)
âA movement that mistakes anger for principle will keep elevating its loudest members and keep wondering why it canât win a general election.â
From the brilliant @BenWoodfinden in @WDiminishment:
âYou do not get to reshape a country from the op-ed page or the seminar room [or, I would add, from the opposition benches]. You get to do it from government, which is why the ideas and the winning were never separable projects to be pursued in sequence, first the thinking and later the power, but the same project, and a conservatism that treats the winning as secondary and not intertwined with the ideas will have limited opportunities to actually implement them.â
Social Capitalâąïž
I have never seen the plight of my generation articulated so well.
This is the core issue we must solve, we must provide abundant social capital to the next generation - using the levers of politics and private industry - or humanity as we know it will end.
@jamiljivani Double standard is glaring
One could argue the GOP is more hostile to Canada but Carney should be trying to get the best deal for Canadians
Iâve been told that heâs been trying to not antagonize Trump and itâs a five head play from him. Is this not antagonizing?
This is the biggest issue Conservatives face right now.
For many Canadian voters this is how theyâll behave:
1. Carney gets good deals with America? Theyâll call him a genius negotiator.
2. He gets a bad deal or no deal? Theyâll blame Trump.
No wins.
Mark Carney goes to UAE to attract investment into Canada, telling them we are building at speeds not seen in generations.
UAE: OK, we are ready to invest $70B.
Mark Carney: nevermind, economy is shit and we have nothing for you to invest in.
He raped his sister.
She was only 12.
He watched porn & emulated it on her.
Sometimes he wore a condom.
He would reward her for sex by giving her money or candy
He said âit would never happen again.â
A judge said itâs too cruel to send him to jail.
We are doomed.
