@BBCNews "our completely objective pattern recognition machine is being too objective in it's pattern recognition"

@mapleblooded BC and Quebec elections back fired. "Everything is wrong and we bear no responsibility because of Trump" is no longer working as an election campaign strategy. Thank god.

How could you tell tho

Bumped into a trans woman today at the grocery store. She smiled and said hi. I smiled and said hi back. Nothing happened. I didn’t become trans myself, It’s like there were Just two people living their lives normally If that bothers you then, you’re an asshole.

@cottage_st3w @AndreaAmati9 A package of spaghetti takes 10 minutes to boil. It has like 10 servings in it.

[John Smith @CApngallery]

I'm curious about the way you're framing this. How do you know that people are making these assumptions about you without a subsequent confrontation about it? Surely you would have some specific example to share. This sounds more like seething mind reading. How do you know?

[Gublo @Gubloinvestor]

I want to share a deeply personal and heartfelt message about an issue I face regularly.

I was born in India and have been living in Canada for the past 13 years, where I am now proud to be a Canadian citizen. Despite building my life here for over a decade, I frequently experience a complete lack of basic respect in public spaces simply because of how I look.

Too often, people make immediate, negative assumptions about me before I even say a word.

In restaurants, servers assume I won't tip.

In public transit lines, people expect me to push or cut ahead.

In everyday interactions, there is a pervasive stereotype that I will be cheap, pushy, or try to take shortcuts.

It is exhausting and humiliating to be judged by these generalized tropes. While some individuals may behave poorly, it is unfair and deeply damaging to project those behaviors onto an entire demographic. No group is a monolith, and every person deserves to be treated as an individual.

A few years ago, I traveled to Georgia. Throughout my trip—from immigration checkpoints to taxi rides—I faced cold, skeptical treatment. It wasn't until I mentioned that I live in Canada and showed my Canadian documentation that the dynamic suddenly shifted and I was treated with courtesy. While I was relieved to be treated well, it left a bitter taste in my mouth: Why should basic human respect depend on proving my nationality rather than my humanity?

It breaks my heart to see how generalized prejudice and stereotypes are impacting South Asian people globally. It is frustrating, sad, and unacceptable.

I share this not out of anger, but out of a hope for greater awareness. We need to stop viewing individuals through the lens of harmful stereotypes and start treating everyone with the fundamental dignity they deserve.

@CTVNationalNews Is it true her and Jack Layton were caught living in subsidized housing in Toronto?

[John Smith @CApngallery]

@kinsellawarren They're fighting over what to call it when Canada starts contributing billions of Canadian tax dollars to the EU.

Carney is trying to give us to them to float their collapsing union and they're going to take us down with them.

[John Smith @CApngallery]

@aesthetica_s They get 8s and 9s because games journalists are trying to convince rubes to buy them rather than give an objective review of them.

[John Smith @CApngallery]

@streakendeacon @OlgaBazova There are no non anonymous sources other than Zelensky saying the speeds were limited any more than usual

[John Smith @CApngallery]

@DasMeldrichen @TruthHammer4EVA Post the proof that Musk or Trump ordered it to be throttled in the first place. Every news article is quoting anonymous sources, and depending on the outlet it's either Musk or Trump that ordered it aka it's fake as fuck.

[John Smith @CApngallery]

@nationalpost Here come the polls created to manufacture consensus before Nov 3rd. Like clock work for this government.

So it turns out that Ukraine's issues with Starlink were caused by Ukraine.

Starlink terminals disconnected at speeds above 160 KPH, as determined by the Starlink terminals internal GPS.

To get around this, Ukraine hacked the Starlink terminals to think they were stationary regardless of speed.

SpaceX figured this out, and updated the system software to detect excessive speed by seeing how rapidly the terminal switched from on satellite to another. This broke Ukraine's hack, and Starlink would no longer work at high speeds.

Ukraine was using Starlink in a way that violated the terms of service.

Starlink figured it out and stopped it.

@DemosKratosCA If we can get the Liberals out of the way

[John Smith @CApngallery]

@englebr3cht @RoyalEndeavour Definitely this

[John Smith @CApngallery]

@SkyNews Honestly given what's been going on I'm not sure if the headline means a terrorist shot someone or someone shot a terrorist. I'm seriously thinking Macron is lamenting the second option which just goes to show how insane the world has become.
