The Player Rank is always fun, if not controversial.
Clark, Plum, and Young are lower than I'd expect (still not over Plum being 16th last year), but at the same time I'm happy Citron and Mabrey are getting well-deserved recognition from their peers.
Kawhi Leonard is joining:
- the 5th-best defence in the NBA, 2nd-best clutch defence
- the 2nd-youngest rotation in the 2026 playoffs (weighed by minutes, top-8)
- a top-10 halfcourt offence (99.4)
- a team that went from 26th to 15th in offensive rating with Ingram
Toronto Tempo Draft Thoughts:
- If Kiki Rice is there at #6, you call in the pick on speed dial
- Really like the potential of Nell Angloma & Iyana Martin
- Raven Johnson & Flau'jae Johnson could play on day one
- Gabriela Jaquez's high-motor is what this team covets & city loves
The Toronto Tempo have agreed to terms with guards Marina Mabrey and Brittney Sykes, per their agent Marcus Crenshaw and @alexaphilippou.
With each agreeing to two-year max contracts, they are the first known million dollar backcourt pairing.
With only five weeks to prepare for the first game, Julie Allemand is the perfect person to be running the show at point guard.
Also really excited to see what Aaliyah Nye can do with a bigger role.
