It is essentially the same as if someone sued their employer for being hurt on the job, then the employer settles out of court. Then you get monthly payments instead of a lump sum.

Experience is an issue, but the person chose that field, and many aren’t willing to relocate for work. They should be held at least somewhat responsible for their choices

@StupidSnek @OrevaZSN That wasn’t congress’s intentions. They’re the ones that actually write the law. FDR wanted a higher minimum wage. It wasn’t created to meet his standard, but the minimum standard. If you read the legislative history on the issue, it will say exactly this.

@dylthorn That’s an interesting take on it. However, that house’s value will likely at least double in value in 30 years. Plus, there is the option to take out a second mortgage and invest that once you have built some equity.
