@jimaxon66 Its the time the washing machine is actually working, so it doesn’t count the time when it’s patiently waiting for the water to fill. Designed by an employer.
@DoneDirtCheaper @KarenSteward04 @BernardKeane No. Cth Parliament can only make laws for specific powers given to it by the Constitution. Energy is not such a power & Cth would need to ‘invent’ its jurisdiction through an international treaty like the Tas Dams case. The Cth law overriding State law applies to shared powers.
@MFWitches And if they ever build nuclear reactors, they’d privatise that as well down the track a few years…it’s just another form of corrupt use of public money to benefit the privatisation gravy train.
@RDNS_TAI I really wish someone would explain exactly what is meant by ‘renewable energy’? I just don’t get it. PV panels convert solar energy (produced by a fusion reactor in the sky) to electrical energy, & then converted into other forms of energy. Its not ‘renewed’ ever. Ditto for wind
@BernardKeane Two things. First, he is saying he is going to do something big; I see this as per Bernie Sanders statement that govts need to do things again. Second, once govt builds the monstrosities, the LNP will then privatise; another grand corruption in the making.
@TMFScottP Its fine for ppl to hold religious beliefs. But it’s a whole different story putting into practice those beliefs, eg a religious school insisting a woman undergo FGM to remain employed. It also should not apply to bodies corporate as they have no sentient brain to hold a belief.
@JaneCaro They not the only ones. Already some of our US friends have made plans to leave the USA. Some have already left DC as they feel it will become unsafe closer to the election.
@MayneReport There is a growing false belief MPs are just a ‘concierge’ for assisting constituents deal with the Executive Gov, ie. gov Depts/bureaucracy. When really MPs & Senators are the bosses of the Gov, & decide which one of them is the PM. Coorey would fail primary school civics.
The Inspector of the National Anti-Corruption Commission, Gail Furness SC, has announced she will investigate the NACC for alleged "corrupt conduct" for failing to investigate the Robodebt criminals. Some background information is here: #auspol https://t.co/8mZz4hN1D8
@RuncibleH It’s an absurdity to hand an inquiry to a subordinate deputy commissioner because their boss is a personal friend of one there ppl being investigated. Why would a deputy commissioner risk their career by making an adverse funding against a friend of their boss?
@BankstownBoy64 Make her the PM. Really parliament should put fwd the best person to be PM not the person who wrangled the votes in 1st past the post voting for a party leader (with all the corruption and gaming that 1st past the post voting involves).
@colonelhogans@abcnews Huge mishandling of conflict of interest. NACC Commissioner a personal friend of Kathryn Campbell via military connex. Inappropriately handed to a subordinate ‘deputy commissioner’ to deal with.
@noplaceforsheep Rick Morton nailed it in Saturday Paper. NACC’s public statement shows flawed decision; admits only possible outcome of continued inquiry is a finding of ‘corrupt conduct’. Then in a non-sequitur concludes no point in further inquiry, despite this being primary function of NACC.
@FetchStep@StephenLongAus@abcnews You misconstrue; it’s not journalism. The ABC merely edits press releases and videos made by commercial interests. Sort of like a free to business, public funded, propaganda machine.
@JaneCaro@peters_malcolm For water pumping the ‘battery’ that most ppl have is a water tank. We have a 10,000l tank with a solar panel powered pump from an 1860’s well constructed by Chinese miners. The solar pump takes 2 sunny days to fill the tank which lasts us 6 months.
@TMFScottP Looks surprisingly like the structure I constructed over our 1860’s Chinese silver miners’ well on our property. It’s successful preventing large mammals (H.sapiens, M. giganteus, V. ursinus) falling in & drowning, but has failed (without mods) preventing Tachyglossus aculeatus.
