@3xbannedb4Elon @allnewsisbad @StephenPunwasi @MVdlJCardinal We look at this equivalent math for a drive from Dt barrie to Toronto its about a clean 100 k counting general delays or 11.6 L round trip by our math. 20.3 still not counting parking costs, a train ticket can be 10 to 15 dollars covering the whole weekend on that same route

Average gas in Ontario rn is 175.2 cents so 110.5 at a minimum for a round trip, this isnt counting parking, any tickets or traffic.

Think of it like this a 5 minute bike ride may be "longer" than a 2 minute drive, but between letting it warm up, or for the seats to cool down, and finding parking its not faster

@HouleEvelyne @JcardinaJ @Prominent_Bryan Not really, like a plane is 40ish minutes from Toronto to Montreal but factor boarding, all the joys getting a flight sorted, that is easily a couple hours minimum. This isnt counting planes can only handle so much capacity. Trains especially hsr cover the middle ground 1/2

A person that rides a train ride it multiple times the gotrain network, the train services that move people in and out of Toronto from the surrounding cities has 70 mill passengers annually, the Japanese high-speed rail has 6.5 billion

And following that, why wouldn't the government make sure they dont screw over workers in the area? And secondly, why should none of the population get any benefit but wasted planning costs?

I agree high speed should go coast to coast but then is it more viable to build it step by step or all at once for ten times this cost.

As I stated before I would of preferred the Edmonton corridor high-speed to be developed first, but this is pulling two of the largest metro areas in the country, the Toronto and Montreal metro areas along with quebec city and Ottawa.

@raziallionheart @DoeDoe1480871 @deca_choco_chip @Charles_string_ Yeah, thats why the project is so expensive. And let me raise a question there, if Ontario and quebec arent pulling their weight then doesn't it make sense for the government to invest in them so they can generate more profit?
