Speaking of the Houston ship channel and 1876, here's a nifty shot of the steamboat "Lizzie" on the channel back in that year. It looks to me like it's loaded with logs. The other boats, the big warehouses in the background, the train on the trestles in the background ... there's quite a bit to take in here. Really a cool shot!
