Minister for Local Government, Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs, Hon. Mahama Ayariga, has paid a working visit to the Adipa Waste Management Centre near Nsawam in the Eastern Region to inspect the proposed new dumping site.

The facility is being considered as a potential destination for waste from Accra as part of plans to relocate some dumping sites away from the city and create space for other public amenities.

The Minister for Roads and Highways, Kwame Governs Agbodza, has reduced the scope of two contract lots on the Wenchi–Sawla stretch from a combined 50 kilometres to 25 kilometres, following concerns over the contractors’ failure to meet deadlines.

China International Water Electric Ghana Engineering Limited and Poly Changda will now each be responsible for a 25-kilometre stretch, with the minister warning that the contracts will be terminated if the contractors fail to deliver under the revised scope.
