Just a kind reminder to all our American friends. That shit that happened in Minneapolis today, never ever happened in the EU, never would, never will.
If a mother of three (youngest child of age 4 or 6) got point blank shot in the head by an officer here, no matter the circumstances, no matter the reasons, no matter the driving directions, or intentions, even if she were the worst human on the planet, governments would fall, elections would be called, and the offending officer would end up serving a horrible jail sentence (and his superiors wouldn’t fare much better).
Oh, and in the EU politically mandated militias, such as ICE, are strictly illegal.
Instead of fantasizing about gunboating your way to build an empire by sizing the territories of your allies, you may wanna consider scraping that medieval constitution you have and joining us as the 28th member of the Union.
@mischiefcomedy What Christmas star do we have to wish on for the 2020/21 MMNI to be released? I would pay good money to revisit Delta Von Tussel and Mighty Throat once more! 🙏🏻🙏🏻
Take it in. The first female chancellor. The first housing secretary who's actually lived in social housing. The first education secretary who was on free school meals. An energy secretary who actually believes in aggressively fighting climate change. Not a bad afternoon.
Very genuine question; why do all GPs now ask you "what would you like us to do about it?", including when you're simply trying to book an appointment. Surely the answer is always "provide a diagnosis and a solution"?? I need a professional opinion not my own guess. @NHSEngland
Let me see if I understand this: the Academy nominated "Barbie" for Best Picture (eight nominations total) -- a film about women being sidelined and rendered invisible in patriarchal structures -- but not the woman who directed the film.
Okay then.
@Broken_Devotion The guy clearly wasn't expecting that and ended up walking up the road, but kept turning back to watch what I was doing. My Dad opened the door for me about 20 seconds later. So thankful the bus stopped where it did, esp. as we were the only two people to get off at that stop
@Broken_Devotion That's terrifying! When I was in college (16/17yo) I was on the bus home as usual, sat right at the back on my own. Guy probs in 30s kept looking over at me, knew immediately it wasn't good. As bus was nearing my stop I got up and went to the front, he immediately followed,
@Broken_Devotion standing uncomfortably close behind me. The bus always stopped about 20 metres from my drive, and I was aware that I'd forgotten my house keys that day. That day and only that day, the bus stopped literally right in front of my front door. Ran up and rang the bell.
You don’t have to have a fresh start & be a brand new you today. It’s the middle of winter and you’re tired. You’ve fallen out of a routine over Christmas & you need longer to find your feet again. These last few years have been tricky, so give yourself time to ease into it.

Workers on the Millennium Bridge, by reducing the headroom of the bridge while they work, have triggered an ancient by-law of London requiring that a bale of straw be hung underneath to warn river traffic:
