If you've been around since the "Collections" update, you understand how painful it was to get this and how much RLSS has changed since.
The Aurum Border doesn't exist, but this title does.

When the Rocket League Sideswipe update drops tomorrow, you can bet I’m grinding for 2 things:
1: The Aurum Border
2: That “extra super ultra rare title”
Getting several friend requests and club invites on Rocket League post update. I do think the update enhances a social factor.
Here’s the thing, I’d like to join a club but be relatively selective on who’s im in. Hard to select when I can’t see player/club profiles in game.
This mode is better than Split-Shot.
“Squash” released in Rocket League Sideswipe today. Players have to hit the ball off of the ceiling or wall then make it touch the ground to score.
@Sayzio_@RocketLeague If they can pull in game records, they can pull other information. I envision a player profile that eventually shows your current preset and the items you are using at the time, while also selecting one of your tags to display on your profile.
@devinconnors The season 18 update is a complete hit for content. Love that we are also seeing the return of event challenges and that the Rocket Pass is dialed in for the length of seasons thanks to Pro tiers. Nice work to the team behind this.

Rocket League Sideswipe Seasonal Post:
Season 17 canned the old Sideswipe progression system. Here are some things to note:
- Borders: Silver-Onyx ➡️ Bronze-GC (-Diamond?)
- Borders change as you progress
- Levels: 6000 (Aurum) ➡️ 50 (Grand Champion)
- Rocket Pass: 9 New Items / 13 Returning Items / 18 Presents / 10 Currency Slots
The most interesting thing about the change is that you cannot get more items from the pass after level 50. I do believe that the 6000 level pass from years prior needed to be changed but there is one issue...
With the collection tab existing I do not know how I am expected to collect painted variants of items if I have the chance of getting only 18 a season from presents. The shop and tokens do not cover it at a certain point.
To fix this, the Sideswipe team should build the Rocket Pass out further in a similar fashion to Rocket League. Take the 13 returning items in the pass and have their painted versions be available after level 50 for those that want to grind out 5000xp (per painted variant) and fill out their collection more. This would still be a considerable grind that makes completing the collection a considerable accomplishment to dedicated players each season.
I'd like to see more of a statement on the revamped progression system in the season 18 announcement @RLSideswipe. It was kind of brushed over for season 17's announcement post with 2-3 sentences and some bullet points.
