🚨 How to get 10% cashback on Amazon Pay GCs!
Instead of buying an Amazon Pay GC directly on Amazon, look for a Physical Amazon Pay Gift Card on Zepto.
• Zepto was offering 2% extra discount when I ordered
• If the transaction qualifies as grocery spend, a card with high grocery cashback can boost the savings
I used HSBC Live+ after verifying the MCC.
🔎 Before paying: Check your bank SMS/transaction details and confirm how the purchase is being categorized.
Got 1k cashback with minimal effort.
What other cards might be worth trying for this apart from HSBC, Equitas?

🚨 Tricks to Check Merchant MCC – Don't Lose Rewards! ❌
A common issue is incorrect MCC like while buying cars MCC being fuel or utilities. The result is zero rewards!
Always verify the MCC before making a large transaction. Here is how to find it:
1️⃣ Call the bank
This is the most accurate method. Do a small test transaction first. Call customer care and ask them to confirm the exact MCC for that charge.
2️⃣ Scan offline QR codes
Use a standard QR scanner app on the store's QR code. Check the raw text for "mc=". If you see "mc=5411", that number is the code. This doesn't work on every QR, but it’s worth a try.
3️⃣ Razorpay method
If paying via a Razorpay link, open it on a desktop. Select UPI to generate a QR code. Scan it with your phone and look for the "mc=" tag.
4️⃣ Check via banking apps. Some apps show this data instantly.
* IDFC: Make a payment and download the receipt inside the app. The MCC is listed there.
* Federal Bank: Send ₹1 via UPI using the FedMobile app. The statement shows the category code immediately.
Any other tricks you guys use to verify MCC? 👇

🚨 Get compensation for credit card rejection with vague reasons
Complain to RBI if a bank doesn't give you a specific reason for card rejection.
💰 Get compensated in the process for denial.

What I had to do:
1.Complained to Level 1 Grievance Redressal on IndusInd website. Alternatively you can email to [email protected]
2.After 3 days (28th April), I got reply from them asking me details such as name, address, date of application, pan no., mobile no. etc.
3.After 2 more days (30th April), they responded "According to the set norms, we will be unable to disclose the internal assessment parameters under which your application has been rejected."
4.I emailed them back telling them that under RBI's master directions 6.a.1, bank has to tell the exact reason of rejection. I copy pasted the RBI master discretion paragraph and warned them that I will raise this issue to RBI if unresolved.
5.After waiting 3 days (2nd May) with no reply, I escalated to RBI Ombudsman giving them all the emails.
6.On 15th June, as the complaint was under process, IndusInd mailed me from [email protected] stating the rejection reasons as "CIBIL Rules Failed". Also stating that I hold an active card from January 2025 which doesn't meet the "Vintage Norms".
7.I replied to them asking them for clear reason rather than mentioning these fancy terms. This time I justified my questioning by mentioning details such as my credit score and credit history. I told them I wont close the complaint unless they tell me the reason for rejection.
8.On June 30th, RBI reached to me with the same copy pasted email from IndusInd I received on 15th June. RBI asked me to offer my comments and feedbacks along with documents against bank.
9.I provided RBI with my CIBIL score, CIBIL history and my Credit Account details. I again mentioned the RBI Master Directions guideline and that the bank didnt follow this. Along with this, I asked for Rs 2500 compensation for Mental Agony.
10.On July 18th, IndusInd reached out to me asking details of my bank account where they had to deposit Rs 5000 as compensation, which I provided.
11.On 22nd July, I got the amount in my Bank Account.
12.RBI closed the complaint on 25th July.
I used ChatGPT to mail IndusInd and RBI. Provided it with basic template without any of my personal details to ensure basic privacy.
Made sure to mention rules and guidelines so that I have proof that I instructed and requested details from Bank and RBI as per the correct procedure and guidelines.

🚨 Wow! Creative ways through which schemes are misused.
Is this one of the causes of India being a low trust society?
Makes credit cards hack shared seem petty in comparison.

It always sounded too good to be true. However, it exposed two major issues:
1) Serious concerns in India due to which large number of people want to migrate
2) Indian Media continuous circulation of fake news for TRP
