Former unpaid #carer for my husband. #Widow, trying to get sorted. Still have a caring role; still a campaigner & policy geek. #Covid is not done with us.
I don’t know how to face this shitty, scary world without him. He gave me strength. Not the other way round. I could be strong because of him. And now he’s no longer here.
My darling boy. 26/09/48 - 7/10/22.
How anyone can bleat that it’s easy to get #PIP is beyond me. They really should try filling in the forms, perhaps then they will stop spouting about how easy it is! 👇
That’s a pity Emma. Lots of really good people use X for information, for connections, and campaigning. Leaving X makes Govt and politicians less accountable and far less visible
I've felt conflicted about using this platform for a long time. Respecting the intention of the resolution which SNP members passed at conference, I will no longer post here.
Please keep in touch/up to date through email/other feeds/newsletter, all at https://t.co/51ZFtkAd8l
This is not good. Lots of us are good people and still use X for info and to connect with people.
This reduces transparency imo - at a time when accountability and access should be at the heart of public service reform.
Look at this chart 👇
Many if not most of the children on DLA will go onto PIP.
Around half of children who get DLA become NEETs.
There’s a clear path from child DLA to PIP to a lifetime on benefits.
We must change this.
Young people should hear about what they can do, not what they can't.
The next Conservative government will help them into work, not leave them signing on the moment they leave school.
You can go ahead with your flu vaccine if you have a bit of a sniffle, but should postpone if you have a high temperature.🤧
If your child has a heavily blocked or runny nose, their flu vaccine nasal spray can be postponed until their nasal symptoms have cleared up.
There is nothing this excuse for a human won’t do to protect his sorry self. Come on Prime Minister @andyburnham - let’s make the ‘Coalition of the Willing’ into the ‘Coalition Of the Worthy’ and stand against this disgusting amorality.
Donald Trump is threatening to cripple Ukraine in its survival—and to expose Europe to Russian aggression—seemingly for the pitiful prize of minimising his losses in next month’s midterm elections https://t.co/1xnBivvs6A
And do you think when people can’t heat their homes or afford to eat Helen, that they will be ready to sacrifice what little they do have, god forbid things escalate?
In the blink of an eye, anyone could become disabled. Without a safety net, life can be frightening. Stand by the disabled, and if possible, urge your MP to end welfare cuts.
Absolute bollocks. And as someone who knows the system from personal experience, it’s humiliating and degrading. You don’t just turn up with a sore elbow and get a car.
Stop spouting such absolute mince.
if you are in a wheelchair with a spinal injury, chances are you have bowel issues (broader than intolerance.) Bit assessor might just class it as incontinence. There may be co morbidities and it all depends on what the assessor records.
“One of the saddest things about unpaid caring. You can spend your entire adult life making sure somebody else isn’t isolated, only to find that you’ve become isolated yourself”

If you are on £25,000 salary per year, £700 of your taxes goes to the NHS annually
If you are earning £40,000 £1,650 of your taxes goes to the NHS annually
If you are earning £75,000 £4,500 goes to the NHS annually
Private healthcare would be far cheaper for ALL of us.
Imagine not seeing a doctor this year but you’ve paid over £2,000 towards the NHS…. Imagine not getting a doctor’s appointment yet you are paying thousands of your taxes into a service which can’t see you.
I think we should scrap the NHS and create a much smaller organisation which ONLY assists
🔹Those above 60
🔹New Mothers
🔹children up to 18
🔹Long term disabled
Everyone else can pay for private healthcare
Premium private healthcare is cheaper.
Those who are on low income can pay a discounted private healthcare which will still be cheaper than what we are throwing at the NHS.
Stop worshiping the NHS which is a black hole of wastage.
