Just two nets sessions left at LCHS as the school closes for Easter. One this Saturday and one on the 22nd, both at 4pm. Anyone interested in joining is welcome and these net sessions will be free for newbies!
We are happy to announce that our winter net sessions are starting on the 21st Jan 4pm at Lincoln Christ Hospital School for 10 weeks. The sessions are £3 per session but the first 2 are free for newbies. We are always looking for new players so anyone interested please pop down
Another win away at Reepham. We seem to like playing at this ground restricting them sub 60 the last 3 times we played there now. Mr Zubi again taking the plaudits with 6 wickets & big hitting 47 chasing 56 in 8 overs. Look forward to Reepham thrashing us at our place as per
After a good start from Farhan & Amogh Bracebridge bowled well to battle back to hold us over the barrel at 66-8. Not to fear though as Sam held up an end whilst Steve slowly & surely got Carholme close to the required total then smashed 12 in an over to finish it off.
Late update on last Sundays game home to Bracebridge. An amazing effort from hat trick hero Mr Zubi saw him take 8 wickets for 12 runs. Some late runs saw Bracebridge to 72 or so we thought. After our scorers totted up the score the target score was changed in the 3rd over to 94
A great day out for Carholme. Let's hope it kick starts the season after a slightly flat start. The score margin slightly flatters Carholme with Barrowby bowling well and being unlucky with the Bat. They seem a great bunch of lads. Good luck with the rest of the season!
Well...What a turn around. After 2 friendly games being cancelled, a break helped at @officialbarrow1. A mammoth 1st wicket stand between Muhammad(97)&Gareth(36)set the foundation for some big hitting from @mudbhatkalamogh(51*)with Carholme reaching an unconfirmed club record 248
After batting on a pretty true wicket Carholme were expecting to be in it for the long haul. Unfortunately for the home team it wasn't to be as the wicket turned unexpectedly spicy & after some bad luck & excellent bowling from Sam & Muhammad Barrowby were bowled out for 40.
MOTM award this year is being retired in honour of @mcgonagleian, who won every MOTM last year & also player of the season. Unfortunately after an unprecedented growth spurt in his legs he has injured his calves & is out for at least the start of the season. Get better soon Ian
A loss to start the season at Owmby. After a good bowling and fielding display Owmby scored 165. A few decisions going our way would have greatly reduced this score. Our batting wasn't good enough however being bowled out for 58. In fairness Owmby just outplayed us this encounter
After some successful winter nets which attracted some much needed new players, we are less than a week away from our first game at @OwmbyCC! Hopefully it won't be as eventful as last year with 2 players being sent home,a scramble to replace them & a thunderstorm ending the game
Carholme CC are looking in the undergrowth for new players! It's that time of year again when the grovelling starts. This year though we have nets so give us a try before you buy! Anyone is welcome to pop along. Details below. Any Q's send a message! #catchingplayersinwinternets
Just a few updates from the AGM as we start the new year! After a mixed 2021 season we are looking forward to the upcoming campaign. Congrats to Steve for being appointed Sunday captain and Chris is continuing his successful midweek captaincy. Long may their reigns last.
@BcnIntlCC Ah you see Nial only performs under certain conditions: batting at number four, arriving exactly 5 minutes before the game starts, an easterly breeze & after having a skinful of Estrella the night before.
Joe bowled beautifully by bamboozling the batsmen spinning it both ways with Craig backing him up with 2 great catches in the slips. The win was inspired by Motm @mcgonagleian who was unfortunately injured as he'd been clicking his fingers too hard at the local jazz club
Two games again to update on after being outplayed by Rustons. We finally were victorious beating Revesby after chasing 115 off a reduced 28 over game.@R121Chris with a tremendous unbeaten 56,a quickfire 36 from Joe & Craig smacking his first ball for 4 winning the game
Carholme's aim was to bat through the overs on a flat pitch and accumulated 141/3. @DanielM92496114 (41no) & Gareth (45) tantalisingly close to his 1st 50 putting on the big partnership. MoTM @mcgonagleian for being willing to play in his underwear after "forgetting" his whites
A couple of games to report on... unfortunately. Firstly a loss to owmby with owmby chasing 171, which on the common is a healthy total to defend.@Darpan14693559 with a big 45. It wasn't to be as a faultless ton from one of their young players easily helped them across the line.
Sunday's game had a similar feeling as a young player from nettleham shone with a measured & chanceless 73. He was well supported by a couple of senior players, leading nettleham to 241. The bowling performance was improved despite the big score. Sometimes nothing can be done
