This message is not for you if you’ve used isolating as a coping mechanism to such an extent that it has negatively impacted most if not all of your relationships.
@MyrlyMortal@CarefreeQyrshi Didn’t read like they were describing people as lessons to me but rather just describing types of relationships (especially romantic ones). The ones who stifle you, the ones who inspire you, and the ones that help you grow. It’s well meaning but tied in egocentric language.
I’ll never forget telling my therapist about ppl not going above & beyond & sacrificing for me like I do for them & she said “you were taught love was w/o boundaries or consideration for oneself, so you take those things as rejection when ppl have those standards for themselves”
@ZavLorives@RiseofTroi@CarefreeQyrshi I completely agree with Zav. If you learn anything from that tweet, it’s probably just that you and Jack aren’t compatible romantically. Something we have in common, actually.
@RiseofTroi@CarefreeQyrshi Maybe to some, but no, wanting communication and affirmation from your partner isn’t “needy” (and it’s not a word I particularly like either). The issue comes with the excessiveness.
