@rowsandall@boston_sculler to ensure a clear view of dwnstrm traffic. The Cambridge arch at Anderson saves about 23 meters, ± 7". Can Cambridge arches (except Weeks) be mandatory for safety?
Green had the best line to the finish, Blue's aberrant course was previously scolded by Blue's wife.
@rowsandall@boston_sculler fairness should recognize the need for prudence. In defense of Blue's line, note that Cambridge arches are taken at River St, Western Av, and Anderson bridges, that the course bows out between Anderson and the Eliot bend, and out again just before Eliot bridge
@sweatscience For rowing races my warmup is 20 strokes at race pace x 3 or x 4 until HR reaches 150 (my HR max is ± 175, at 4 mMol lactate HR is ± 155). Effect lasts 15-20 minutes despite inactivity, ensures aerobic kicks in before ATP is exhausted.
@StephenSeiler This is interesting but my 20-year detailed record doesn't show heart rate going down, and reps to failure on a leg press has changed very little. I think the slowdown comes from cardiovascular efficiency. At least for me, it doesn't seem to be tied to heart rate.
