The PAWS award is given weekly to a student from each class who has a Positive attitude, Acts responsibly, Works hard and Stays safe. These triplets were shocked to find out… they all received the PAWS award for their class! ♥️♥️♥️ @MorganWoodsES
Wind racers! Today we did trials with our designs. I loved watching the students all cheer each other on and give advice on edits they could make to make their racer even better. @HCPSElemScience
The fun continues! Day 3: mechanical energy! This lesson also included a mini lesson about the importance of teamwork and communication between scientists. I heard someone say “come on, guys! We are not team-working!!” Heat and light energy tomorrow. Stay tuned! @HCPSElemScience
Today we investigated sound energy to explain how sound energy can cause motion or create change. We placed tuning forks in water & watched how the vibrations created a SPLASH. Great way to visualize sound waves & learn about how sound travels. @MorganWoodsES @HCPSElemScience
Day 2 ! ELECTRICAL ENERGY! We used a battery to create a flow of energy to make the light bulb light up! It was awesome to see SS work together and problem solve based on what we’ve learned about electrical energy. @MorganWoodsES @HCPSElemScience
A math class essential for me.. Math Choice Boards! Day 14 & all SS are engaged in independent work, partner work or small groups with me! My review page this year is called “Tiger Time Travel!”
@MorganWoodsES
If you are like me and wonder EVERY. SINGLE. DAY Where the pencils are, you need to get this pencil parking pocket chart. It has been 2 weeks and I have had 32 pencils WITH erasers at the end of each day. This is my favorite teacher purchase that I’ve ever made. $12 on Amazon!
During my small groups, you’ll see kids walking around with clipboards, on the carpet, talking with a partner, or on the computer. It might look like chaos to you, but I see independent workers, problem solving and having fun with math. Choice builds confidence!! @PotterEagles
