It's funny how I sneered at The Vampire Diaries when it was all the rage in the 2010s but can't stop watching it now.
I just wanted to revisit the pilot (again) 2 days ago and now I'm halfway through season 2. Haven't gotten this far ever. Not shabby at all.

As far as guilty pleasures go, this is one of my favourite from the 2000s.
Sandra Bullock stars as an agent going undercover in a beauty pageant. One of her signature films.
The story is not exactly multilayered. It's simply basic, but that's why it works. No over thinking. Just a simple script supported by a great cast.
Just like most 90/00s comedies, it also features a great retro soundtrack in the background.

Universal refusing to do influencer screenings for Christopher Nolan’s ‘The Odyssey’ but rolling it out early for critics is actually pathetic.
After the London premiere on July 6, only the critics get early access. Everyone else has to wait. We all know the game — studios pay these woke people to write the “correct” reviews and control the narrative before normal audiences even get to see it.
They’re too late though. The internet has already shaped everyone’s opinion before the movie even drops.
Influencers get blocked because they might be honest, but critics? They get the VIP treatment. This shit is so obvious it’s embarrassing.
Who else thinks this “critics only” move is complete nonsense?

The Adventures of Tintin was meant to launch a trilogy. Peter Jackson was set to direct the sequel, with Spielberg staying on as producer. Script drafts existed. Motion capture pipelines were ready. The follow up has been quietly stalled for over a decade
