I often get asked about why I post my creative demos, even though I don’t work in sports anymore.
👉 Here’s truth: Doing this has nothing to do with my day job. But I do have a reason…
> 90% of creatives in the sports industry are self-taught.
Your job is time-consuming.
The last thing you should be sacrificing is heads-down time dedicated to search for something new to learn.
Recognize that what you do isn’t easy, and even harder to quantify.
I hope these tips and tricks give you a small glimpse into how much you can expand your creative horizons and save at least 10 minutes of your time everyday.
@emmagsharon https://t.co/KZyeYfR690 is great used gear for a decent market price. I have bought from there many times with no issues. They do test their gear prior to selling them and their warranty is good.
I can relate! Mostly when I post (which hasn't been for a while) I feel like I am just shouting into the void, but other times the genuine connections are amazing! Including some people who stopped to hang with me in TX while they were passing by. It's a pendulum swing for sure.
My relationship with Twitter is funny. On the one hand, I'm pretty sure it's a near complete waste of time. Do people even see half the stuff I post here? I doubt it. On the other hand, I love sharing stuff, and enjoy the few connections I get from this place. Go figure.
The most fun I ever had negotiating a salary:
Years ago I hired a guy to a junior marketing role. He was a bike mechanic with no relevant experience, but he had an engineer’s mind and was funny as heck.
I asked him to call me to discuss compensation…
@Camp4 I wish more employers hired with this mindset. It makes people actually want to perform better for you and the job as a whole. Sadly, most of the full-time corporate roles I've had in the past 3 yrs have gone so far to take away negotiating rights altogether...def not motivating.
@emfails You definitely don't have to, but if you did it would make the world building that much more recognizable and exciting - coming from someone who comfort watches these movies almost every December
@mjdesmo Would like to get back into enjoying personal photography again - lost that love the past year and a half because doing it for work on the daily felt unenjoyable and monotonous. More nature walks ~with a camera~ in2023!
