Sometimes I think I’m the one plotting this Urban Fantasy novel. Then my characters remind me who is actually in charge.

Today’s drafting session was completely hijacked by Jin, the snarky, talking cat familiar in my WIP.

I had a perfectly reasonable, serious scene planned out.

Jin decided it needed more sarcasm and a lot more complaints about the Pacific Northwest rain. ☔️🐈‍⬛✨

(He was right, of course. But don't tell him I said that.)

In my offline life, my favorite title isn't author or business owner—it's 'Gaga'.

Spending time with my two grandsons on our property here in the Pacific Northwest is where I find my daily magic. It's grounded, messy, and full of surprises. 🌲✨

Family dynamics are at the core of my writing, too, though the surprises in my urban fantasy WIP are a little... darker.

I love playing with the idea of hidden family lineages. For example, my protagonist discovers later in the story that her seemingly normal granddad turns out to be Lucifer himself. 😈

It makes me appreciate the simple, non-demonic family moments so much more.
