@AriReddy It’s also robbing woman of their most fertile years. Unable to start a family due to instability in career, long commutes, uncertainty and regularly changing places of work.
@DrLKVaughan TBF aside from a Doctor out of all health professionals to prescribe for me I would choose a pharmacist! They are like the lawyers of medicine! But I get your point, are they not called pre-reg pharmacists?
@JackElsom Many Resident Doctors are in their fertile years, but due to provisions of childcare it makes life very difficult.
Life is expensive due to the nature /hours of the job. This needs to be counteracted somehow.
@JackElsom What about Childcare? No nursery places/extortionate costs and if you do find one there is no provision for childcare hours OOH to cover the hours Doctors actually work.
Also AFc staff are had their weekly hours cut to 36hrs, but a Doctors standard week is 48hrs.
@trentconsultant Honestly, I would take discounted 24hr childcare at the hospital, salary sacrifice for my carc a decent place to rest for shift, Doctor only spaces/offices, free ( healthy food) on shift. I mean the moral is low and so is the bar.
@glurcher@BMAResidents I think tax payers are paying enough! In Scotland 84% of the population took more than they gave to the state, so your logic is flawed!
@MusePsychiatry@DrEilidhMaria It’s the elephant in the room! Something we need to be “allowed” to discuss with resorting to branding people this that and the other for just raising the topic!
@Ginja_Ninja86@SalfordMe2023 Hard agree. Woman now have the worst of both worlds. Need to work to provide and raise kids ( if wanted ) whilst simultaneously remaining fit and well groomed. Equality is having a choice.
I want a strong man, a provider and a protector. A man who opens doors for me.
@BeAwesomeBeAdam@DrEilidhMaria In Scotland Council tax is going up 25% and a FT childcare place in Edinburgh has reached £1600 in my area - this does not include food!
