@BorisJohnson @ZelenskyyUa Truth is even more powerful than weapons. How about making a condition of any settlement access for President Zelensky to all Russian media to present what is happening in detail. The reverse could also be offered!

[David Carruthers @Carruthers_DJ]

@andrearadri It was looking great before your shameful decision.

@FedorovMykhailo @Microsoft @Oracle @SAP @microsoft Your silence is deafening. Use your Windows screensavers to show the truth to Russians and expose Putin's lies.

[David Carruthers @Carruthers_DJ]

@Konrad03249040 @LiteMods How about Microsoft showing war scenes and anti invasion/anti Putin banners on its Windows screensavers through its updates. Many millions of Windows users in Russia

@globalhlthtwit @chrischirp The latest data (up to 2 Jan in England) strongly support this

[David Carruthers @Carruthers_DJ]

@globalhlthtwit @chrischirp Numbers in hospital also rising. Interestingly numbers on mechanical ventilation not changing much - the fist time in the pandemic that numbers in hospital not well correlated with MV numbers. Must mean hospitalised cases less severe for omicron on average. Some Xmas good news.

[David Carruthers @Carruthers_DJ]

@dgurdasani1 Severity of disease also includes a third factor:
3. Severity of hospitalised cases. This appears lower for omicron than delta

[David Carruthers @Carruthers_DJ]

@dgurdasani1 I don’t see what point the Guardian article misses. Just considers various courses the pandemic may take and raises some questions.

[David Carruthers @Carruthers_DJ]

@globalhlthtwit @chrischirp Yes indeed - I was referring to number in hospital which also lags admissions.

[David Carruthers @Carruthers_DJ]

@NicklessStephen @globalhlthtwit @chrischirp Yes MV will be required by older age cohort, but the the data strongly suggests that the proportion of those hospitalised requiring MV will be lower. For the delta wave lower ages were also affected first but correlation between MV numbers and those in hospital is very strong.

[David Carruthers @Carruthers_DJ]

@chrischirp This graph should be treated with caution. The rapid rise(dotted blue line) is a forecast not real data.
