Couldnโt agree more with Michele
Because what the **** are we doing??
We call ourselves a โcommunityโ, a group of people who play together, race together, and support each other.
The F1 esports community should strive to be a positive example for ourselves, for organizers, and for anyone watching from the outside. Right now, we are doing the opposite. Misrepresentation, out-of-context screenshots, and attempts to โcancelโ each other have become common, even when the truth is far more nuanced.
The way we handle difficult situations often shows how bad our community has become. Too many conclusions are drawn from incomplete information, and too many assumptions come from people who are not directly involved.
There will always be serious cases that must be handled properly by teams, managers, or authorities. But for many issues speaking directly to one another or escalating the matter internally is often the most responsible first step.
Because if we can for once all be honest with ourselves, do we realize what we text online? Can we all look once at ourselves and see what weโre actually saying to people? Iโm sure every single one of us could get cancelled in this community just by taking things out of context or not.
Publicly attacking each other, spreading partial information, and attempting to damage someoneโs reputation only creates more harm, including significant mental stress for those involved. None of us benefit from that.
No one is perfect, and we all make mistakes but we should not be trying to destroy each other over them.
Letโs work toward a healthier, more respectful environment. Address problems responsibly, encourage honest communication, and keep competition where it belongs: on the track.
Weโre working with several well known people in the community to create a healthy environment for all of us, bringing clear rules, clear policy, consistent stewarding etc.
So supporting clean racing, friendly rivalries between teams and everyone working together on making us all a โcommunityโ again.
Letโs support each other.
