No surprise that the Islamic State claimed the attack on Interior Ministry HQ in Raqqa. While the Islamic State has been more quiet in Syria lately, issues that occasionally spring up with foreign fighters that played a part in overthrowing Assad in 2024.
The biggest losers of this deal are anti-regime Iranians inside Iran who risked everything in January.
