The first heat of the spectacular World Fireworks Championship Blackpool kicks off tomorrow night, Saturday 12 September.

Take your place along the Promenade in time for the 8.15pm firing time and watch Wales battle it out in the skies.

Due to the popularity of the free event, there may be traffic delays arriving and leaving. The Promenade will be closed between Springfield Road and Chapel Street during the build up to and during the event.

Diversion routes will be in place. Trams will be running on a split service from North Pier and Manchester Square, and buses and taxis will be able to access Market Street.

See you tomorrow evening!

Coming to Blackpool: David Bowie: On Tour ⚡

We are thrilled to share some massive news! The V&A has announced a major national tour, David Bowie: On Tour, and Blackpool’s award-winning Showtown museum will be the only venue in the North West to host it.

David Bowie: On Tour will open from Wednesday 30 June to Sunday 26 September 2027, marking 60 years since he played live right here on the resort’s South Pier in 1966.

Visitors will get a rare glimpse into his creative process through more than 100 highlights from the famous V&A archive.

Wow, we're only a few days away from the official opening of Pleasure Beach's new ride, Aviktas.

Claiming the title of the UK's largest Gyro Swing, it makes those on board feel as though they're being 'swung over the sea', with epic views across the Fylde Coast.

The £8.72m ride will catapult riders 138ft into the air at angles of up to 120° when it officially opens on Thursday 21 May.
