1. Before
Jackson wasn't starting from nothing, but his recruiting journey wasn't as organized or focused as it could have been. Like a lot of talented players, he was putting in effort without a clear system behind it: no targeted plan, no focused list, no structured outreach. Everyone talks about "the JUCO pipeline." Almost nobody can actually measure it.

Here's why evaluating junior college baseball programs has been so hard:

1️⃣ Four separate governing bodies (NJCAA, 3C2A, NWAC, USCAA) — none of them share alumni data with each other.

2️⃣ No system tracks a player from a JUCO roster to a four-year roster. Every connection has to be built by hand.

3️⃣ Social media isn't a data source. Posts get outdated, deleted, or were never accurate to begin with.

4️⃣ Raw alumni counts lie. 40 guys in NAIA isn't the same as 15 guys in D1 — but most "rankings" treat them like they are.

5️⃣ Coaching turnover is invisible. A program's track record means nothing if the coach who built it left two years ago.

6️⃣ Rosters change every year, so any snapshot goes stale fast — and re-verifying 1,700+ programs annually isn't optional if you want it to mean anything.
