It's officially official, "Drown" has surpassed 10k streams on Spotify, a major milestone that less than 1% of artists on the platform get to! I'm so thankful and grateful to you all... Now back to the lab for the next one! #CaseyRain#Drown#NewMusic
@iamslickrick01 I've heard that GTA is known to lowball everyone for music, banking on the fact that everyone wants the exposure. So, the asking price might have been reasonable in most contexts, if true. Too many variables!
Flying back to the UK today after an incredible LA trip (and a week in Minneapolis for Celebration!).
I achieved everything I wanted to and more on this trip:
- shot the music video for my next single, "Drifting"
- mixed 4 songs from the album at EastWest Studios
- worked with my FAVOURITE SYNTH PLAYER OF ALL TIME, David Frank (The System)
- A&R meetings with major labels
It's been an amazing trip ๐๐๐๐
Of course it would turn out that I'm flying back to the UK in the middle of a damn heatwave on Wednesday. So I've booked us an air conditioned hotel for a few days until the weather cools back down, since my flat would be roasting!
Assuming he did guide vocal versions for all of them. The obvious things to include for me are Streets of Panama (removed at the last minute and is in the movie) and The Morning After (not currently available on streaming and is also in the movie, makes more sense than when it was on the website version of Lotus album) - agreed if those Tamar tracks exist then they would be great too!
@LOCOtraining 1986. The whole year. Because in that year alone, in terms of recordings, you've got the tail-end of Parade, Madhouse 8, Dream Factory, Camille, Crystal Ball, SOTT and most of The Black Album. And with the majority of this stuff, the quality is on par with the quantity!
I can't speak for him, but I think it's almost certain that there's great footage and great things in there that fans would love to see. The problem is, if you include 5 minutes of unproven one-sided allegations (whether that is to do with abuse, drugs, whatever it may be) then as we all know, that's the 5 minutes that 100% of the trash media will focus on when they write about it and then the Estate have to go into damage control. Having the right to use priveliged material means you have to show a certain level of respect and never delve into anything remotely tabloid-y, especially when it's only possible for one persons side of the story to be told. Quest knows Prince wasn't perfect, we all do. But on such a big platform, with a project that would introduce millions of new people to him, is it fair and responsible for any part of it to paint him as abusive, an addict, etc? I personally do not think it is.
I hope Prince fans can connect the dots between what Netflix just did to Michael and the REAL REASONS the Prince Estate fought and won to pull the plug on the Netflix Prince documentary. They have their own agenda and it's about scandal and driving views - nothing else.
John Branca via instagram: Shame on Netflix for running a low-end trash documentary, about a trial in which Michael was found unanimously innocent. What's next? Netflix will merge with National Enquirer? Shame on Ted Sarandos and Nicole Avant for running this low-end trash.
The King of Pop is officially the king of the box office: The "Michael" movie starring Jaafar Jackson is now the top-grossing musical biopic ever. https://t.co/bZSAEnSHub
