The LC trial has shown us that women desperately need better healthcare, we need to stop relying so heavily on psych meds, we need to bring back involuntary commitment because, yes she did check herself out of a psych ward, and it showed us society needs to develop a better understanding of PPD. All of that is true.

It has also shown us that we have a terrifyingly high rate of extremely unstable women raising children in this country who prioritize attention on social media over the well being of their families or themselves.

You can care about women, women’s rights, and women’s health without attempting to normalize a mother committing a triple homicide against her own babies.

We can have the conversation about PPD without infantilizing women or stripping them of agency or implying they don’t deserve accountability for their actions.

I don’t excuse LC for what she did but I empathize with her.
I believe she should and will be institutionalized for the rest of her life, or the majority of it.

I do not empathize with the women on Tik Tok making this about them. I think they are dangerous narcissists who shouldn’t be raising children without supervision or intervention. Because they are showing the world they pose a danger to their own children.

You don’t have to agree with me or like where I stand, that’s fine, but this is my position and I’m not moving from it.
So probably don’t bother trying to change my mind. Because I probably won’t respond to you if you do.

If you want to discuss the details of the case or a theory behind her motive, that’s fine.
But if you come at me defending the toxic femininity on display over on Tik Tok I’m not engaging.

Sorry, but I’m the type of feminist that believes the number one job of mothers is protecting their children and the number one job of FEMINISTS is protecting women AND THEIR CHILDREN.

Too many of you seem to be forgetting that feminists are also supposed to protect the rights of the child.

LC might have been out of her mind due to PPD or over medication which is not her fault. But she was in a hospital getting help and voluntarily checked herself out to go home and murder her children.
