There's a guy on my morning commute who dresses like a priest. Full collar, black clothes, the works.
For three months, I assumed he WAS a priest.
Month four, he sat next to me.
Him: You look troubled.
Me: Just work stress.
Him: Would you like to confess?
Me: ...I'm not Catholic?
Him: Neither am I.
Me: Then why...
Him: I just like listening. People need to talk.
And I don't know why, but I TOLD him everything. My job anxiety, my relationship problems, my fear of never amounting to anything.
He listened. Nodded. Gave surprisingly good advice.
Me: Thank you... Father?
Him: I'm an accountant. Name's Kenji.
Me: You're WHAT?
Him: The outfit helps people open up. Been doing this for two years.
Week later, saw him again. Different person confessing to him.
Week after that: a LINE of people waiting to talk to him on the train.
All commuters. All unburdening themselves to a fake priest accountant.
Month six, the train company NOTICED.
Conductor: Sir, you can't run a confession service on public transit.
Kenji: I'm not charging anyone.
Conductor: You're... not?
Kenji: It's free emotional support.
Conductor: ...carry on.
Month eight, Kenji had a SCHEDULE posted in the train car.
"Confession hours: 7:30-9:00 AM, 6:00-7:30 PM"
People would PLAN their commutes around him.
Businesswoman: I need to catch the 7:45 so I can confess about my affair.
Student: I'm taking the late train so I can talk about my exam anxiety.
Month ten, a REAL PRIEST came.
Priest: I heard about what you're doing.
Kenji: I can explain—
Priest: I'm not here to stop you. I'm here to confess.
Kenji: ...what?
Priest: I've been struggling with my faith. My own congregation doesn't understand. But I heard you listen to everyone.
Kenji listened to the priest for 40 minutes.
The priest cried.
Priest: Thank you. I feel... lighter.
Kenji: That's what we're here for.
Month twelve, Kenji got ORDAINED.
Online certification. Took him three weeks.
Now he's ACTUALLY a priest.
Him: I figured I should make it official.
Me: You became a priest because of a train hobby?
Him: When you find your calling, you follow it.
Present day, Kenji runs a real church in Shibuya.
But he still does train confessions twice a week.
Last week's confession from a salary man: "I've been pretending to like my job for 15 years."
Kenji: What do you actually want to do?
Salary man: Open a bakery.
Kenji: Then open a bakery.
Salary man: It's not that simple.
Kenji: It is. You're just afraid.
Six months later, that guy opened a bakery.
Sent Kenji a photo of the grand opening.
Kenji showed me on the train.
Him: This is why I do it.
Me: You changed his life by listening on a train.
Him: Everyone just needs someone to listen.
I still confess to him monthly.
Last confession: "I'm afraid I'll never make my parents proud."
Kenji: Are YOU proud of yourself?
Me: ...sometimes?
Kenji: Then you're on the right path.
Best fake priest I've ever met.
@yabaleftonline Incase you don’t understand, the 21yr you are seeing represent the father and as long as tradition is concerned you have to respect him cos that’s the person that hold the staff of the house..
Am glad you are just an escort without family value.
Congratulations to Peller and Jarvis❤️💍. Wishing you both a marriage filled with laughter, peace, unwavering love and countless beautiful memories. There’s something so beautiful about young love when it’s built on friendship, growth and commitment 🥂❤️
Once you learn how to shop directly from China, E.g Temù or shien your wardrobe changes completely. Call me cheap I don't care I ain't rich, I don't do fraud.😭
It's knowing what to search for.
Here's my style after making plenty of mistakes.
1. T-shirts:
Skip 100% polyester unless you're buying gym wear.
Instead, search:
• 100% Cotton
• Combed Cotton
• Heavyweight Cotton
• 240-300 GSM Cotton
• Premium Cotton
• Mercerized Cotton
The heavier the GSM, the thicker and more premium the shirt usually feels.
2. Jeans:
Denim Jeans
Temu is surprisingly good for denim if you know what to search.
Search:
• Denim Jeans
• Cotton Denim
• Raw Denim
• Selvedge Denim (if available)
• 98% Cotton + 2% Elastane
• 99% Cotton
Avoid jeans with high polyester content. The more cotton, the better they'll age and feel.
3. Body-hug clothing:
Search:
• Ribbed Knit
• Modal
• Viscose Blend
• Cotton-Spandex Blend
They hold their shape much better than cheap polyester.
4. Hoodies
Search:
• 400 GSM
• French Terry
• Cotton Fleece
• Heavyweight Hoodie
5. Chains
Search:
• 316L Stainless Steel
• Titanium Steel
• PVD Gold Plated
• Vacuum Plated
These are far more resistant to fading than ordinary fashion jewelry.
6. Earrings
Search:
• 925 Sterling Silver
• 316L Stainless Steel
• Hypoallergenic
• Moissanite (if you're buying stones)
7. Scarves
Search:
• Mulberry Silk
• Silk Blend
• Cashmere Blend
• Wool Blend
• Viscose
Avoid the shiny, thin polyester scarves if you're after a premium look.
8. Loafers
Search:
• Genuine Leather
• Cow Leather
• Full Grain Leather (rare but worth looking for)
• Rubber Outsole
9. Sneakers
Search:
• Rubber Outsole
• EVA Midsole
• Breathable Mesh
• Leather Upper
• Stitched Sole
Pictures lie a lot
The description usually tells the truth.
Here's how I shop:
1. Read the material composition before anything else.
2. Sort by Most Orders or Best Selling, not cheapest.
3. Only buy products with lots of reviews or pictures or even better when a Nigerian has purchased it before they always tell the truth.
4. Read the 1-star reviews first. They'll tell you what the seller won't.
5. Look at customer photos, not the product photos.
6. Check the weight of the product. Better quality clothing is often heavier.
7. Read the size chart. Don't assume your Nigerian size matches.
8. If the title has words like "luxury," "premium," or "designer" but the material is 100% polyester, not everything but still move on.
Your best friend isn't the product picture.
It's the material, the reviews, and the customer photos.
That's how you separate the gems from the junk.
I hope this help.
Things are to expensive for a country this poor.
There is something some of you do that is very disturbing.
Because you have a cleaner that comes around twice a week, you eat food and you stash the plate for days till the cleaner comes around. You don't clean up your personal space till the cleaner comes around. Your bed is always unmade and you house dirty till the cleaner comes. Why do you need someone else to wash your underwear if you are not actually mad?
This thing is just common sense and hygiene. Wash your plates immediately after eating. Clean up your kitchen always. Flush your toilets properly and keep it clean. Keep your house in order, you're the one living in it. When your cleaner comes, she can do general cleaning. You don't have to be a pig just because you're paying someone to clean. I also have a cleaner but my house is always neat and organized. I am the one living in it.
You need to do better. Money will not fix the values you don't have.
@Wizarab10@oni_samuel_ A sale girl I know left her job becos her madam will poo and leave it for her to flush.
one day, she summoned courage and told her she cannot be flushing her poo but the woman intentionally poo again for her to flush she refused, casted the madam in the plaza then left the job.
