I think BYUs issues can be summed up in one stat: yards after contact. Over the last 2 games BYU is giving up 3.4 and getting 1.7. For a team who’s identity is physicality, they need more from its running backs and it’s linebackers. https://t.co/W1qzxrRzkE
ARod “I have a system. The run game will work eventually. No need to adjust.”
Pop “we made one good play so let’s sit in drop 8 the rest of the series.”
Ena “why am I here?”
Unga “no need to hit the portal”
Kalani “love and learn”
I’m telling all athletes…STOP TAKING CREATINE. You don’t need it. Stop putting that nonsense in your body. A good diet and proper sleep are best. Stop letting little Jimmy at the local Planet Fitness tell the top 1% of human bodies what to supplement. Creatine is like filling a balloon with air it looks bigger and better till it’s time to put it under stress. That’s why soft tissue injuries happen. Your muscles lack pure substance.
How is the internet less private than in 2006, when the whole family shared one computer?
Back then, the internet was weird, personal, and all of ours.
So, we got your favorite meme legends back together to say it louder: What happened to the internet? 1/3
@McdonaldBe90596 They aren't disciplined. I think that stems from the top. But really thats the reason for the lack of turnovers, missed tackles, all of it.
@steelcougars@BYUinsider I've been feeling this for years. I love my kids so much that I discipline them to teach them correct behavior. True love leads to loving consequences. I think the guys have learned that there are none.
At what point do you have a honest convo with yourself when you have now gone 30-5 in the last few seasons and achieved 0? You have played for nothing, won nothing, lost some very embarrassing games... At what point is that lesson learned?
BYU has had a negative turnover margin in four of its seven games this season.
After recording seven takeaways in the first four games, BYU has one in the last three (Notre Dame fumbled spike at the end of the 1st half last week).
BYU has gone three straight games without a defensive interception for the first time since November 2023.
It honestly doesn’t hurt 😂
I have watched this team 3 years in a row have the ability to control their destiny and in the biggest moments become undisciplined, unmotivated, and just choke it away.
Go cougs always but I can’t defend this type of performance 🤷
The big 12 has 5 ranked teams
2 BYU
8 Texas Tech
10 Utah
14 Houston
25 Arizona
They are a combined 29-2 with the only 2 losses coming from playing each other (TT beat Houston, BYU beat Arizona)
I remember during Kalani’s first few years at BYU, when the program was really struggling and losing a lot of games. One night, they were doing the Kalani Football Show live on TV, and basically zero fans showed up. His own football players ended up sitting in the audience to fill the empty seats. I remember Kalani getting emotional and breaking down in tears.
He has since admitted that during that time, he questioned whether he was the right guy for the job and whether he could turn the program around. I thought that might be his last year as BYU’s head coach.
And now look at him and this program… #2 IN THE COUNTRY!!!
What an incredible story of perseverance, loyalty, and believing in something when almost nobody else did. So happy for Kalani. He deserves every bit of this! 💙🤙
