Today in 6G we were learning to:
Use a variety of graphs to record data.
Students were using M&M’s to record their data in a frequency table, and on a graph.
🍫 This was an engaging and rewarding lesson for all students, as they were provided with a little treat. #acuedu_p

What a great and fun method to use for students to differentiate between dollar and cents and learn how to use money. They seemed to enjoy this activity. #acuedu_p

Casual teaching has taught me that all schools operate differently - programming, rewards systems, school layouts etc.- I’m currently trying to get as much experience in different schools before I finish uni as I’m nervous about maybe getting a permanent job next year😕

Mini whiteboards are the best for allowing students to practice making their work neat before copying it into their books, it prevents a lot of unreadable books as they’re able to fix their mistakes before they make a mess.

This was a fun history task I did with year 2 - students were required to design and label a “future house” (after they had examined differences between heritage houses from 100+ years ago and housing in current society)
A great demonstration of some common Key Word Signs we use everyday in my classroom. Also super useful for everyone to know in general. You never know when you might need it! #acuedu_p#kws#auslan#disabilityed

I made these farewell cards for my students in my first prac class. They each took between 1-3 hours to draw/colour but it was well worth it to see the excitement on the kindy’s faces 🥰
Brain breaks and activity breaks increase student cognitive functions and focus and promote greater learning outcomes - they’re also really beneficial for students physically and mental health! Here’s what the NESA has to say:

I love Wordle as a game! It’s combines English and fun so it’s a great way to engage students and can expand their vocabulary.
You can play as a whole class or you can pair/group students and have them solve the word puzzle on their own devices.

Art lessons: they may be messy but I always love how they turn out!
They are beneficial as they enable teachers to address content from multiple KLAs and also cater for various student abilities. This Kindy lesson connected students’ learning in Religion and English.
I have created a relief teacher feedback form. It will be a great way for me to provide feedback to teachers about how their class went when they were away. #casual#teaching#acuedu_p

Yesterday in my University class we worked in small groups and identified various behaviour expectations/strategies that can be used in the classroom. We then did a gallery walk and marked the strategies we liked best with red dots. This was our group’s list:
