⚠️ Warning: Reading this woman’s story could break your heart.

Her husband took the children outside. Her brother came with a knife. And her family reportedly defended her killers.

This is not a horror movie. This happened in Iran.

Her name was Maryam Yarmohammadi. She was only 28 years old. A mother of two children .

On October 5, in Qeshm, southern Iran, her husband took their two children out of the house, reportedly to make way for her murder. Then her own brother entered. I cannot believe that I Am even writing this .😔

Her brother came with a knife and stabbed his sister in the neck, breasts, and genitals. He literally, stood over her body, butchered his sister and waited as long as he was certain she was dead, then he took her to the hospital.

But the most horrifying part of this story came afterward.

Some of Maryam’s own relatives gathered outside the hospital. Not to demand justice for her. Not to mourn her murder. They protested the arrest of her brother and husband.

They said death was the least punishment she deserved.

They called it HONOR.

What kind of honor requires a brother to butcher his sister? What kind of honor turns a husband into an alleged accomplice in the murder of his children’s mother? And what kind of society allows a woman’s life to be treated as family property?

Let me tell you why honor killings happen in Iran; Under the laws of the Islamic Republic, misogyny is not just a mindset. It is taught, institutionalized, and protected by law.

From childhood, boys are taught that a woman’s body, her hair, her sexuality, and her choices are matters of male honor.

In schools, universities, state media, and religious institutions, the message is repeated: A woman belongs to a man. First her father. Then her brother. Then her husband. At the end the strangers in the street called “morality police “.

And when a woman dares to disobey, these men think they have the right to punish her.

In Iran, a woman get arrested, beaten, and flogged for showing her hair in public. But a man who beheaded his 17-year-old wife and paraded her head through the streets received just over eight years in prison.

Eight years. For cutting off a woman’s head.

And you wonder why women are being murdered in the name of honor again and again!

A woman’s hair is treated as a greater threat than a man holding his sister’s or his wife’s dead body.

Now, do you understand why we try to educate some men in 21st century and shout laud that, we are not your honor. We are not your property. We are not your family reputation.
Our bodies do not belong to our fathers, brothers, or husbands.

Stop killing women in the name of honor. Stop controlling women in the name of religion. Leave women alone.

I cannot stop thinking about Maryam’s two children.💔

🎂 🇫🇷 Aujourd’hui Simone Barreto Silva aurait dû fêter ses 50 ans. Il y a 6 ans, le 29 octobre 2020, Brahim Aouissaoui, un migrant tunisien sauvé en mer par une ONG et ramené à Lampedusa, a tué 3 chrétiens dans la basilique Notre-Dame de Nice, dont elle.

Originaire de Salvador au Brésil, elle vivait en France depuis environ 30 ans, avait la nationalité française, travaillait comme aide-soignante auprès de personnes âgées et était formée en cuisine. Elle participait aussi à des activités culturelles brésiliennes et était mère de trois enfants.

Malgré de multiples coups de couteau, elle a réussi à sortir de la basilique et à alerter, ce qui a probablement limité le nombre de victimes.

Ses dernières paroles, rapportées par les secours, ont été : « Dites à mes enfants que je les aime. »

Вадиму Дзядові було лише дев’ятнадцять.

Ще зовсім недавно він був звичайним хлопцем із Буковини: навчався, сміявся з друзями, будував плани й тільки починав доросле життя.

Вадим закінчив ліцей із посиленою військово-фізичною підготовкою.

Після навчання обрав службу.

У війську його знали за позивним «Мажор».

Для побратимів він був військовим.

Для викладачів — тим самим життєрадісним хлопцем, який ще недавно ходив коридорами ліцею.

А для матері й рідних — сином, якого просто чекали додому.

Та одного дня прийшла звістка, до якої неможливо підготуватися.

Вадим загинув під час виконання бойового завдання.

Йому назавжди залишилося дев’ятнадцять.

Особливо болючою ця втрата стала для його брата Юрія.

Він також захищає Україну.

Ще вчора в нього був брат, якому можна було написати чи зателефонувати.

Тепер залишилися фотографії, спогади й слова, від яких стискається серце:

«Брате, я не вірю, що ти залишив нас…»

Для когось «Мажор» — лише позивний військового.

Але вдома за цим позивним стояв дев’ятнадцятирічний Вадим.

Син.

Брат.

Племінник.

Хлопець, у якого попереду мало бути ціле життя.

І тепер Юрію доведеться продовжувати службу вже без людини, з якою він пройшов поруч усе дитинство…
