Still holding my 2 short positions, reminders, still expecting down, reasons and full market update

Just a quick reminder and summary of all the confluences we have built so far, why we have been short from 66.3k, why we started compounding short as we headed in the 64k region here, why I still expect more down.

Because yes, I do always update you on my positions step by step and in detail. But over the years, I learnt you all like reminders so here we go, going through my routine thought process step by step of why I am still short.

Reminders will be in helicopter-view, very brief manner simply because this is X and there are character limits. If you want more in depth reasoning, most is on my timeline for free in depth, in bits and pieces. I share a lot of in depth information.

Macro (weekly/monthly)

Believe it or not, macro is always first in my analysis, but because it changes only very slowly, it doesn't require that many updates. I'm not here to engagement farm and repeat 100's of times, I have better things to do. I'm only here informing or updating you when necessary.

So to be very brief and as you already know: the macro has bottomed, we mentioned that, we constructed the 7 magic confluences (+some extra confirmation), it all points that way.

But, the macro has also moved off it's bottom since our call. And because we are nearing a local range high + local sentiment shifts (many big accounts on X who are bears suddenly aren't talking so bearish anymore).

That's normal. Because when I say "bottom", it doesn't mean up only V-shape to the moon. A bottom is very typical to include a range, to bore people out as I discussed recently. Which is why we can form the next step

Multi-day timeframes

From macro, we shift down to multi-day timeframes.

We form confluences of why this is likely to be a range, why 66k is range high combined with the FOMC reversal. We called it out at exactly that time, so far so good since.

This with all confluences shared, shows why I expect a range on the multi day timeframes, the range of boredom within the macro timeframes, since 66.3k, heading back down.

Daily bias

And that perfectly shapes my daily bias, which is indeed, surprise surprise, down. Multi-day (2D, 3D, 4D, 5D, 6D) timeframe bearish bias + at range high = bearish daily bias.

Hourly timeframes

Zooming in more.

With confluences such as downtrend avwap (on the chart), M and W institutional levels in a dense space, local golden zone, all reasons to pinpoint lower. Adding onto that, the local sentiment which is still stubbornly bullish off the local first pump from sub 60k (where below, many of those same people were bearish, funnily enough).

Entry

Entry usually on the m30 or lower, or a slower entry + managed trade when the market is slow such as in this case.

But indeed, we also are seeing signs of absorption, and some follow through. Big positions who repeatedly got liquidated giving up and entering opposite trades and some other things I look for.

Local sentiment

Local sentiment also not showing any signs of confident and arrogant "guaranteed" "market will drop" type of behaviour. What we see more is "this is a slow grind up and will explode" and silence of bears locally. And to be frank, this is not the clearest of sentiments locally (66k+ was a lot clearer), but that's fine and normal when a range is becoming saturated and people become cynical.

Final comments

To every piece of analysis, criticism should be formed. I do have my critics to each piece here mentioned above. Critical thinking is important. But it's never to "abandon the position", unless the criticism becomes a dealbreaker.

What it does serve for, is to remind us to stay humble, know what to expect, always manage positions carefully/thoughtfully, never oversize (unless for specific reasons), know when to exit and when I should inform you all, etc etc etc.

Position management

So all that analysis is fine, and all is well. The plan is constructed and clear.

But no clear plan should ever be left as is. As I always say: "what you do about it is more important than what you expect".

Those who leave a plan without adjusting positions, will miss out on trades and their edge, or be forced into more losing positions ("Hmmm, okay I didn't act at first but now my masterplan is now giving a really good entry", or is it because your plan is failing? ... COMO theory)

So with all that said, what am I doing?

It's quite simple here but must be said: I am holding shorts from 66.3k, the shorts III from the previous win streak.

And I am still holding my new compounded short we have entered as we headed in this region right here right now.

Summary

Macro: bullish, but ranging
Multiday: bearish, FOMC rev, 5 confluences + sentiment
Daily bias: Above + we're at a local range high, bearish
Hourly: Headed into a POI and started reacting, set to drop
Entry: local absorption, position tracking, traps forming, liquidity
Position management: short III still open, new short I built in this region.
