@cjsbishop See this is the problem Chris. You think people need to hear you, when listening is actually the most important skill when you’re representing the people
@BexGraham 2/2 I agree with your first posts, it 100% doesn’t help, but age & having study, work, & lived experience of poverty gives us an advantage. I was a mum at 20 with v limited means but supported in practical ways by family. I was clueless about my privilege. Life experience helped
@BexGraham I was v appreciative of your articles for the Spinoff & what you & ppl like Jackie B share about the dreaded tinned tomatoes. I know the bulk of the issue is media promoting these types of stories, but some of the comments are giving me mean girl vibes 1/2
A Budget whose tax cuts give 2x more to the PM than to minimum wage workers, has $2.9bn in tax cuts for landlords, and excludes many poor families from many initiatives, will officially maintain or worsen child poverty rates. Unacceptable. 1/
Aus vs NZ
A (politically conservative) friend described why work in Aus was better. “The unions are really strong”
In NZ was excepted to be online/available at all times but much fairer in Aus - an interesting discovery for them, we’ve lost a lot downgrading the unions here.
@SussexHenryVIII Yes weird way to use the term. I’m adopted so I use this term to describe my lovely biological family, but never heard it used in this context.
