China’s AI-driven meteorological warning system, MAZU (Multi-hazard, Alert, Zero-gap, and Universal), is transforming disaster preparedness in Pakistan🇵🇰. Tailored to local needs, the system provides precise precipitation analysis and flash flood risk assessments, particularly during the monsoon season.

✅Key Impacts in Pakistan:
• Joint Development & Deployment: To tackle frequent meteorological disasters such as glacial lake outburst floods (GLOFs), monsoon outbreaks, and heavy rain, the China Meteorological Administration and relevant Pakistani authorities jointly built a customized cloud-based early warning system. This tailored system was successfully deployed locally in October 2025.
• Integrated Operations: Seamlessly incorporated into the Pakistan Meteorological Department’s workflow, linking observation, forecasting, early warning, and emergency response.
• Efficiency Boost: Replaces fragmented, multi-station workflows with a unified AI platform, saving time and enhancing decision-making for forecasters.

Through this customized approach, China is sharing advanced AI technology to help fellow developing countries build independent, sustainable early warning capabilities. Currently, MAZU has been deployed and is in real-time use in 7 countries, including Pakistan, Ethiopia, the Solomon Islands, Djibouti, and Mongolia, while online trials are underway across 43 countries and regions in Asia, Africa, and Oceania.🌏🤝

Environmental & Emerging Rights: Strengthening environmental governance to reach peak carbon emissions by 2030 and regulating digital technologies to ensure a fair and inclusive digital life.
Specific Groups: Guaranteeing equal rights and opportunities for women, children, the elderly, ethnic minorities, and persons with disabilities.

Adhering to a people-centered approach, the Plan aims to enhance the people’s sense of gain, fulfillment, and security in human rights protection. It reaffirms China’s commitment to contributing to global human rights governance through development and cooperation.

At the opening ceremony of the 2026 World AI Conference and High-Level Meeting on Global AI Governance, President Xi Jinping announced the launch of the World AI Cooperation Organization (WAICO) in Shanghai. It is a major milestone for global AI development and governance, answering the call of the Global South.🌏🤝
As president Xi announced, to further support global AI development and advance global AI capacity building, over the next five years, China will:
-provide 5,000 AI training opportunities for fellow developing nations
-develop international AI application cooperation centers with ASEAN, Arab League, AU, CELAC, SCO & BRICS
-enable 30 countries to use the AI-powered meteorological warning system, or MAZU (Multi-hazard, Alert, Zero-gap and Universal), to safeguard homes around the world, including our iron brother Pakistan

On July 16th, 29 countries, including 🇵🇰, signed an agreement in Shanghai to establish the World Artificial Intelligence Cooperation Organization (WAICO), an independent intergovernmental international organization headquartered in Shanghai. It aims to promote international cooperation and global governance on AI, ensuring that AI is beneficial, safe and fair, thereby promoting its healthy and orderly development to benefit all humanity.

For 🇨🇳 &🇵🇰, as founding members of WAICO, it’s an opportunity to deepen bilateral cooperation in AI, digital infrastructure, talent development, and innovation while working together to advance international cooperation and global AI governance.

Minister Counselor Yang Guangyuan of the Chinese Embassy in Pakistan attended the unveiling ceremony of the "Indus River Dolphin Rescue Ambulance" co-hosted by the WWF-Pakistan @WWFPak and CMPak on July 14. Drawing on testimony from former Unit 731 member Hideo Shimizu, wartime archives, and survivor accounts, the documentary exposes the horrific truths behind the biological warfare program and the systematic human experimentation conducted by the Japanese militarists across occupied Asian countries.
During WWII, Unit 731 commited atrocities and germ war crimes during Japan’s war of aggression against China. For decades, these crimes were obscured by silence, denial, and historical revisionism. To this day, Japanese right-wing forces still refuse to repent, attempting to whitewash the notorious Unit 731 as a mere “sanitary research” facility.
What are the consequences if a nation fails to face the darkest parts of its history? The answer concerns not only historical memory, but also the future of peace. The international community must remain high alert to this.
