PSA: “Vive Headset is Acting as a Monitor”

If you run into this problem let I did for the second time today. It’s the software that’s causing it. It’s not initizing your headset properly. Source: (Lots of trial and error)
You have to reinstall the vive set up software:
- Use your control panel to uninstall anything called Vive. Vive port, vive software, etc. it’s like 4 things.
- Tips: I use ChatGPT to bring up the proper link cause Google pumps ads in my face and I can’t find the right one.
- Have your vive wands ready not your index controllers. It doesn’t recognize the index ones.
- Have your headset and base stations turned on.
- Biggest tip: You have to wait 5 minutes on each screen of the set up guide. It downloads the set up from the site and if you go too fast it corrupts and crashes. You then have to restart your PC cause it thinks you’re still running the other one if you try again.
