So pleased to welcome Aslan to @AlthorpHouse - a former Police horse, he needed somewhere to retire to. Delighted to look after him now. He’s very charming and playful and has settled in quickly - having been stationed in London, he’s particularly loving the green fields.
Big party at @althorphouse today - celebrating the 1st birthday of our puppy, Freya. @CatJarman invited Freya’s parents, siblings, and their owners for a tea party - and they came from all over Britain. Canine chaos ensued.
Anyone out there have any recommendations for non-alcoholic wines? There seem to be a lot of quite good sparkling ones and we quite like Zeno and Oddbird's offerings.
I made it to 6 months without alcohol, yesterday. Never felt better. Thank you @CatJarman for your quiet and thoughtful support in this happy transformation.
Finished #reading The Rabbit Hole Book by Richard Coles, Cat Jarman, and Charles Spencer. Random stuff from throughout history. Most, if not all, deeply interesting. Loved this. A must-read. Very much recommended.
Rudy - the one cat vermin control dept in the Stables at @AlthorpHouse - has trained me to turn the tap on for him on hot days. Apparently more fun for him than boringly drinking from his bowl…..
Cat Jarman breaks her silence after the ‘devastating’ moment her MS diagnosis was made public amid her relationship with Earl Spencer

It's so incredibly heartening to hear comments like this from @iamangiewhite - thank you - it makes all the difference. It wasn't my choice for my MS to be shared but hopefully, my experiences can now help others.
@cspencer1508@CatJarman@mssocietyuk For me, having @CatJarman share her experiences with MS is absolutely incredible. A person who is successful and triumphant and an amazing example to a generation of young people with chronic illness is so needed. It’s personal for me and I can’t say thank you enough! 😇🙏🏻💜
Thank you, @iamangiewhite - @CatJarman had the legal right to her medical privacy, but when that was maliciously and unlawfully taken away from her, Cat decided to turn a horrible act into a chance to hopefully help others.
News hot off the press – another Lego octopus has just surfaced – not in Cornwall this time but in Wales! In fact, it’s the first report we’ve had of a Lego octopus being found on a beach in Wales. It was discovered by Jenny Smith who told us: “We'd gone to our usual spot, Ginst Point in Laugharne, for a Father's Day beachcomb. We'd picked up the usual array of rubbish as we went around. We had found a few goodies and decided to head back to the car. After doubling back I stopped to get sand out of my eyes....I looked down and saw a spiral looking shape sticking out of the sand. I got out my rake to start digging...then our eyes locked...I couldn't believe what I was seeing...was it the sand in my eyes?!? I squealed with excitement, shouted to my husband and kids.... and sat there in complete shock. After 12 months of searching, we'd only gone and found the holy grail! Beyond chuffed!”
Thanks so much Jenny for sharing your story and pictures with us. What a find!
Just read The Bone Chests by Cat Jarman.
Excellent book on whereabouts and burials of many of #England#AngloSaxon and #Viking kings at Winchester Cathedral, sadly now all mixed together in mortuary chests after religious vandalism by parliamentary soldiers

It's been an absolute joy to read #TheBoneChests by @CatJarman on my commute this week. Brilliantly researched, this enthralling historical mystery tour of Britain had me captivated. Enlightening and engaging - highly recommended 📚👑 @WmCollinsBooks
