There are moments when a man ceases to be a man.
He becomes a wound. A gash torn open in the universe.
I am that wound.

I write these words not from a room, but from the grave of meaning itself.
And I write them with trembling hands and a blasphemous heart because I no longer know if prayer is a virtue or a curse.
Because the silence from the heavens has become so loud, I fear it will shatter my skull.

They told us to flee.
They told us: “Go south, there you will be safe.”
So we went.
Obedient.
Meek.
Begging life like beggars beg bread.
But there is no south.
There is no safety.
There is only earth quaking under the weight of corpses, and children carrying the eyes of the dead in their faces.

I sit now in a room smaller than a confession booth, twenty-eight square meters of guilt.
And I am ashamed to possess even that.
Ashamed because my friend lies headless in the north.
Ashamed because I breathe, and his mother no longer does.
Ashamed because survival, here, has become a sin.

What is this?
What do you call a world where innocence is a death sentence, and justice a superstition?

Do not call it war.
Call it ritual slaughter.
Call it divine abandonment.
Call it what it is: the slow crucifixion of a people in broad daylight, while the bishops of democracy sip wine and speak of “context.”

They bombed a tower today.
Forty-eight families.
Thirty minutes to escape.
Then it was fire.
Then it was rubble.
Then it was silence.

And the world, this bloated, bloodless world, watched with dry eyes and full stomachs.
They wrote it down.
They called it “a response.”
They said: Hamas infrastructure.
I say: a nursery with blood still wet on the blankets.

I say: a child curled around her dead sister’s shoes.

I say: a father digging through bricks with his fingernails because there is no shovel left, no ambulance, no hope.

And the tents, do not insult us with that word.
A tent is not shelter.
A tent is the mockery of shelter.
A tent is what you give to ghosts when even the dust has forgotten their names.

And still, somehow, my heart beats.
Why?
What right does it have to beat?
What right have I to remain while others vanish in smoke?

Oh God, if You are watching, then watch this.
Three more houses have fallen as I write.
Three.
Each with its own holy story, its own lullaby interrupted by the scream of steel.

If this is not hell, then hell is redundant.

And yet I write.
Because words are the only thing we have left to bury the dead with.

Israel has evicted 33,000 Palestinians from three refugee camps: Jenin, Tulkarm, and Nur al-Shams, since early 2025.

The IDF is still refusing to let them return to their homes and is building permanent bases where their homes once stood, making the eviction permanent. They are considering moving on the refugee camps in Tulkarm and Nur al-Shams next.

The people thrown out of their homes are living with their families, in mosques, or trying to start lives elsewhere and depending on meager humanitarian aid. Ethnic cleansing in the West Bank.

Prime Minister @andyburnham and Foreign Secretary @Ed_Miliband : how much longer will Britain remain silent?

For three years the father of my two sons, and Pakistan’s former Prime Minister, Imran Khan, has been brutally penalised by his political opponents, in a personal vendetta by Army Chief, Asim Munir,  which according to the UN,  amounts to torture and which  is now taking a potentially fatal toll on his physical and mental health. 

He has endured 3 years of solitary confinement. For nearly ten months now his family has been denied contact with him. He has been deprived of the most basic human contact, denied access to books, lawyers and doctors.

The international human-rights standards are unequivocal. Under the UN’s Nelson Mandela Rules, solitary confinement lasting more than 15 consecutive days is prohibited and amounts to torture.

He has endured this treatment not for 15 days, but for three years.

Pakistan’s own Supreme Court has now intervened: ordering comprehensive  medical treatment, access to his personal doctor, regular family visits and twice-weekly calls with his sons.

Yet those orders are being defied.

This is no longer simply a Pakistani political matter. It is a human-rights emergency.

He has deep and lifelong ties to Britain. He studied at Oxford University, captained Oxford University cricket and spent years playing county cricket in England. His relationship with this country stretches back more than half a century. His charitable activities were internationally recognised, and  include building the only free cancer hospital in Pakistan as well as a university.

His sons, my two boys, Sulaiman and Kasim, are British citizens. They have been forced to watch their father’s health decline from thousands of miles away, prevented from visiting him, denied visas, publicly threatened by government officials with arrest themselves, and even denied court-mandated regular phone calls. 

I have repeatedly appealed to the UK government to intervene. Purported attempts at back channelling have evidently failed. The previous Foreign Secretary @DavidLammy informed me in writing that Britain would not  intervene if my sons, British citizens, are arrested when they travel to Pakistan to visit their father. 

@FCDOGovUK: Britain must now speak out publicly and unequivocally. Demand that Pakistan comply with its own Supreme Court;  restore Imran Khan’s medical access, his right to see his family, end his prolonged isolation and uphold his fundamental human rights.

Pakistan is a Commonwealth country. Britain has a long and proud tradition of standing against arbitrary detention, inhumane treatment and the denial of fundamental rights. Those principles mean very little if we invoke them only selectively and neglect them when inconvenient.
This an appeal to the new Burnham government  to please now do the right thing.

Palestinian teenager Kareem Sanad Shalaldeh, 17, was murdered today by Israeli settler terrorists in the town of Sa’ir, in the occupied West Bank.

He was at home when dozens of armed settler terrorists stormed the town and opened fire on civilians. He went outside to see what was happening and was shot in the chest by settler terrorists.

This is the reality Palestinians in the occupied West Bank face: daily, state-backed settler terrorism while the world looks away.

Hind Rajab's mother posted this after 'israel' admitted they murdered her 5 year old daughter:

'I am the mother of Hind Rajab.

After more than two years, the "israeli" military has finally acknowledged that its forces opened fire on the car in which Hind and my family were trapped, and that it will open a criminal investigation, despite denying this at the time.

But I want to say this clearly: opening an investigation is not justice.

Hind was a frightened and injured child, trapped inside the car among the bodies of her family members, pleading with the world to save her. The paramedics who went to rescue her were later killed.

Why was there no investigation when Hind was begging for help? Why was there no investigation when the paramedics went to save her? And why, after more than two years?

I do not want a closed military investigation. I want an independent, transparent investigation and genuine accountability for everyone responsible.

Hind is not just a news story or a case reopened because of international pressure.

Hind is my daughter, and I will continue to demand the truth and justice for her, my family, and the paramedics who tried to save her.

Opening an investigation is a long-overdue step.
Justice has not yet begun.'
