This is what it looks like when a train is forced to push through an active wildfire zone.
Footage from train engineers near Armstrong, Ontario — the same area under evacuation orders right now. The sky is blood orange. Flames are visible outside the windows. One engineer says: “We’re encased in flames now.” Another: “This is getting a little scary.”
These crews are trying to keep critical rail lines moving while the forest burns on both sides of the tracks.
This is northwestern Ontario in July 2026.
And while Canadian infrastructure and workers are literally surrounded by fire, our government keeps writing billion-dollar cheques to the same foreign countries on repeat — money that will take generations to recover, if it ever does.
Where are the water bombers?
Where is the serious investment in forest management and rapid response?
Where is the priority on actually protecting Canadian land, Canadian communities, and Canadian workers?
They have endless money for everyone else.
But when our own forests are burning and our own people are in the middle of it?
We get the same old story: underfunded resources, slow response, and politicians who treat domestic disasters like an afterthought.
This isn’t just bad luck with the weather.
This is what happens when a government stops putting Canada first.
@david_parker If @fordnation and the other premiers got off their asses and started paying PSW’s/nurses in nursing homes/home care better, more people would be attracted to the profession.
@DavidPiccini That’s interesting David. Why pray tell are immigrants who’ve lived here 10+ years still on welfare? Why isn’t your social services minister doing their job by cutting these people off? Maybe @fordnation shouldn’t have taken 5 months off.
@fordnation@DavidPiccini You’ve been saying that for the last 8 years Doug. How about whole able bodied families who’ve been living on welfare for the last 10+ years? The whole social services system needs a complete overhaul. Time to bring back GIS for those that are disabled, OW sucks for these folks.
@CedarAndHoney@MarkJCarney No, this is why regular Canadians can’t afford a home, or you see addicts on our streets with no funding for detox/rehab, high rates of crime with catch and release, or college/Uni kids can’t find a job to cover their school expenses. Suicidal empathy at its finest.
@MarkJCarney Right. And cusma deal that you promised in you election platform? Forget about it. Besides being in a recession, and Canadians facing job losses and losing their homes, why bother taking the job. I mean well done( I’m being sarcastic)
@sarobertson_ I wonder if @JustinTrudeau ever thinks about the over 50k OD deaths(and rising) from fentanyl that he let into the country, or the unvetted immigration and high rates of crime?
@MarcMillerVM@MarkJCarney First of all Marc, you need to admit your role in allowing unvetted immigrants into Canada, then you need to apologise to Canadians.
@MarkJCarney By keeping our oil in the ground? We could be a power house for our energy, housing and healthcare wouldn’t be a worry. But your policies are keeping Canadians back. Why do you hate Canadians so much?
@gregorrobertson I’d stick to housing Gregor, but you’re doing a piss poor job at that too. A PSW or labourer should be able to afford a decent place to live, but @liberal_party monetized it. Dumb fuckery at its finest. Thanks Gregor.
