On 23 June, over 40 Armenians, Azerbaijanis, and others joined an online gathering to speak out against war and repression — and in solidarity with Bahruz Samadov, sentenced to 15 years in prison for refusing to take part in a nationalist war machine.

On 23 June, anti-war and peace activist Bahruz Samadov was sentenced to 15 years in prison.
His so-called “crime”? Refusing to participate in the machinery of national hatred and war against Armenians. Refusing to be silent.
1/ Bahruz Samadov has just been sentenced to 15 YEARS in prison.
His “crime”? Saying NO to war. Defending peace. Daring to think freely.
This is not justice, it’s the fear of a regime that knows its time is running out.

I loved watching this series, troubling at times and always thought provoking. A rare glimpse of the Other, for whatever he stands for as your antagonist and a disappointing reflection of yourself, above all in this fourth episode.
Our last episode on Armenian and Azerbaijani films is out. In this one we discuss documentaries produced by third parties with @LaurenceBroers and Nino Orjonikidze.

Talk, don't be silent! is an initiative we created together with @CaucasusTalks. You can read stories of Caucasian women* who have been sexually harassed and abused on our websites. Our goal is to talk about our common problems by telling similar stories.
