The sheer scale of the venom being directed at Celtic and their fans is more than just about football. It is rooted in Scotland's baleful legacy and history of anti-Irish Catholic racism and bigotry.
We were on our knees as a community when Celtic was established in 1888. In 2026 we stand tall.
And the reason we do stand tall is largely because of Celtic, and how the club has provided us with a sense of pride in an identity that is rooted in defiance not compliance.
A celtic fan in their 40s would have watched as their grandfather, father's, mothers, aunts and uncles fought to save the club from liquidation
They witnessed rangers win 9 in a row
Witnessed the head of the SFA deliberately block a players registration
They have seen their team finish either 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th 19years of their lives
Celtics success wasn't handed it to them it was earned from hard graft from those that came before and celtic fans of this generation will never forget it
A lot of people who have been saying for years Scottish football can’t be corrupt - even through the whole EBT debacle and Hugh Dallas and Jim Farry.
Now openly and viscerally stating it’s corrupt after a pretty standard handball decision. 🤔
Don't get drawn into the people running around with their hair on fire here - And we know why they're so angry.
Plain as day, a handball like the 100 other handball's we've seen given all season.
@EwenDCameron You can retweet Donald Trump if you want, it’ll no change the decision. Bet you’ve called out Celtic supporters before and used the “even itself out over a season” line. Oh, it hits his hand btw
@mrewanmurray Funny how we’re always told these things even themselves out over a season when we complain about decisions and then everyone loses their shit when they even themselves out 😂😂
@CelticFC Is it just me who hasn’t had an email telling me renewals are open, what the price increase is and how much they are now or is another example of world class basic communication?
