Today we wished our wonderful Mrs Lambert a very happy retirement. Mrs Lambert has spent a remarkable 40 years as Cavalry school's crossing patrol officer and 38 years as a midday supervisor/cleaner at Cavalry. She will be sorely missed by the Cavalry pupils, families and staff.
 Hi, we're glad you're here...🎶
Thank you to all the families who came to see Reception's Twinkly Nativity!
The Reception team are very proud of the children for their singing and remembering their stage directions, their big talking voices and their lines.

The children then investigated how the fire started, how people tried to put it out, and why it spread so far. We became archaeologists and explored the remains of different buildings to discover who worked or lived there, using the artefacts as clues. We had such a fun day!
Today Year 1 travelled back in time to 1666, and discovered what it would be like to have lived in the time of the Great Fire of London. First, we found out what types of jobs people did in the past, and tried our hand at these traditional skills. @ElliotFndtn
Well done to the Cavalry Ten Pin Bowling team who came first at today's Panathlon Challenge! Congratulations!
We think Mr Brown might need to ask for another trophy shelf soon!

This week in Year 1 Science we have been learning about the seasons and how the leaves change on the trees depending on the season. Have a look at our lovely trees!
Thank you to all of the families who attended our Reception Workshops this week.
As promised, the notes and links to videos are now on our school website.
We challenge you to have a go at your own Super Subitising Autumn Walk in the next few weeks!

Year 2 will be building shelters for Leonard in our science lessons. Please could Year 2 children bring in a box to use ready for this activity. Shoeboxes are ideal, as are cereal boxes etc.
If anyone has spare boxes to donate to Year 2, please drop off at class 5 or class 6.
Year 1 are hoping to make rain gauges and wind toys next week. Please can you bring any large plastic bottles(coke, fanta, fizzy water) you have spare at home to Class 3 or 4. Thank you in advance!
As they watched the bees coming to collect the nectar, on child told us that "bees collect nectar and turn it in to honey" and her friend added "you can put honey on toast but my favourite is in smoothies!".
How tall is your tallest plant? Is it taller than Mrs Mann?
Back in spring, Nursery planted some little sunflower seeds in the garden. Fast forward to September and look how they've grown!
The Nursery and Reception children have been amazed looking up at the sunflowers this week!
@ElliotFndtn
A big "well done" to our Reception pupils for a fabulous first day of school today!
They were confident, enthusiastic, inquisitive and friendly. It felt like they'd been here for ages! What a positive start to their education, we can't wait for tomorrow!
No, we're not hosting a jumble sale already...
These coats were all left at the end of the summer term. Please collect from the front of school this morning. Any left at 9am will be added to our pre-loved clothing stores.
