The heat of her breath slithers softly past her lips. Her Lady nears, deeper into her hands;into the soles of each palm, She takes to her, and is welcomed.
Aegean eyes, the black of each swallows its color, dilating.
Sheโs emptied of her words by the Princeโs approach.
โGood.โ
Eyes fall shut and open again slowly, much like a catโ quiet scoff emitted, though she leans right into her touch, inching even closer. "I'm sure I can make that decision for myself."
A cool brush, the tips of each finger, over her skin. Her Ladyโs touch is a tender one, is light and feathery where it lays and it lies upon her.
โ.. โฆ Itโs risky, getting attached to your Hand.. โฆโ
Her hand slides down and joins to cup at Her jaw.
โโฆYouโre better not to.โ
She watches; attention switching between each eye, down the slope of her nose, and over the curve of her lips, quick to lift again just as a curious brow does. Another hum, fingertips brushing over her skin in almost affectionate strokes. "Why's that?"
Sweet and heady is the stay of Her gaze. And sheโs there, a rising heartbeat shared between the irises.
As Her hand laces around her wrist, it deepens.
Slowly, she blinks those dead eyes. When lifted to find Her Ladyโs own, light kisses across each pupil.
โBetter not have.โ
Corners of her lips twitch upward, amusedโ allowing her head to lower slightly, other eye opening up to get a better look. "Of course not," she murmurs, but the way she lifts a hand to wrap gently around her wrist says otherwise.
Such a puppy. Words donโt even find Her.
An opened eye. Her own lifts to find it.
Head tilting ever so.
โNowhere you wouldnโt have me.โ
She lowers Her chin with her grip. Just slightly. She wants a better eyeline. To meet Her Lady. So tall.
โI hope you didnโt miss me much.โ
Her only response is a quiet hum of acknowledgment, although falling asleep like this doesn't sound so bad. It wouldn't be her first time. Tension eases out of her shoulders, another moment passing by before an eye cracks open again. "Where have you been?"
Over half lidded eyes, her brows lift in a light amusement.
She chuffs.
โReally. Okay.โ
Still petting, her opposite hand takes to her chin. She holds her there, holds her still. Thumb stroking just beneath her lower lip.
โTry not to fall asleep standing.โ
Something, anything to say struggles to come together. Instead,
a tentative hand lays gently to his back. And pats.
She keeps it there.
.. . โฆ
โI dunno.โ
(.. โฆ I suck at this. โฆ)
โLots of people have.โ
She stays there with him. As the words slur past his lips, she is attentive to each one.

A question trickles off his tongue.
She feels her mouth parting. Her lips opening in a pause. For a moment, she just stares at him
Even sober he had an immense distrust in his own perspective, his own memory, rarely allowing his recollection of events be prioritized over anotherโs. In a situation where he knew he was drunk it was all the easier to doubt himself like this.
as it processes.
She dips her chin slightly and gathers a slow intake of breath. It slithers out her mouth.
And this micro expression;her brows curl downward ever so.
As if she knew.
But now this oneโs looking at her like a kicked puppy.
โ.. โฆ . ..โ
Oh. Thatโs. Different.
He looks confused.
Her head tilts a little as she leans to check in on him.
โUh huh?โ she nods back, halfway mocking.
โDoing okay?โ she asks, with a brow lightly raising.
Her fingers are laced around the bottleโs barrel and she seals it with its cork.
Her eyes slowly shut as it runs down her throat, that lovely numbness to chase in its shadow.
Yet after a few swigs, it doesnโt come. Not for her.
The bottle lowers back into her lap.
Her eyes open again. She only blinks.
And glances back at him.
โ.. ?โ her brow quirks.
She only has to lift it a little before itโs innards start to spill. Heโs only made it a quarter the way down.
Then again, for a bottle this long, he did pretty decently for a lightweight.
Lilac delight. Even its bitterness tastes sweet.
it made him uneasy, or it was familiar, made him feel at home, the two speculations wrestled in his mind, forgetting that they were just two halves of one internal truth.
