Be aware that wildlife, such as mule deer and the non-native Barbary sheep, are crossing and along the park road. Please watch for them and slow down. Only stop in pullouts to view wildlife, not in the road.

Carlsbad Caverns National Park will be closed from 5:00 pm MST on Sunday, December 31, through 6:00 am on Tuesday, January 2. This closure includes the visitor center, cavern, entrance gates on the park road (Walnut Canyon Drive/NM7), Rattlesnake Springs, and Slaughter Canyon.
