@Kormin_@stemvik Romain, if you could that would be great. As for the plaques at Hill 67. We finally had the badges created in a high resolution format and are seeking a manufacturer. If you know one in Normandy that would be easier.
The @CBFFCCB is replacing the 31st Cdn Minesweeper Flotilla plaque at WN 62 at Omaha Beach. Their records don't have the dimensions of the plaque. Would any Normandy guides, recent visitors have this info, or could get it without too much difficulty? Thx

The Canadian Battlefields Foundation extends sincere sympathy to Tim Cook's family and colleagues at the @CdnWarMuseum on his tragic death. His many books leave a legacy of learning about Canadian military history that will last forever. We will remember him.
They owned the cafe in Cussy where students staying at the Abbaye would gather in the evening. Later, working and living in the Abbaye, Jean & Mireille would host students for dinners of Normandy favourites. Merci Mireille.
Sad news for CBNF Alims from 1995 to 2000. Mme Mireille Fesnien, partner of Jean and caretaker at the Abbaye d'Ardenne until 2000, died suddenly this week in Normandy. Mireille and her family welcomed students into their home...
@Kormin_@battleguide If you know of a local source for this kind of work, please let us know. Thin metal might be a better option, though the plastic plaques have worn very well in most cases.
@battleguide@Kormin_ The original plaque maker is no longer in business and efforts to find a suitable replacement plaque maker have been unsuccessful. The plaques were made of plastic that has lasted 20 years, unless vandalized.
The man believed to be Canada's oldest living Second World War veteran has died just shy of 110 years old.
Albert Middleton was born March 11, 1915, in London, England, and died at the Broadmead Care's Veterans Memorial Lodge in Saanich, on B.C.'s Vancouver Island on Feb. 12. Albert came to Canada when he was a teenager.
Middleton volunteered for the Royal Canadian Air Force. He served in Europe from 1943 to 1946, years spent "dodging all the bullets," he said.
News of his death was shared over the weekend with the announcement of a celebration of life to be held at the lodge on what would have been Middleton's 110th birthday.
We Will Remember Him
