๐ซ KIDNEY HEALTH IN OUR COMMUNITY
Black people in the UK are more likely to need a kidney transplant, and often wait longer for one because matching donors are harder to find. Many kidney problems start with no symptoms at all. Come and hear from a kidney specialist and a community champion for living donation on what you can do now, for yourself and your family.
๐ค Guest Speaker: Professor Ibi Erekosima (Consultant Renal Physician)
๐ค Special Feature: Dr Dela Idowu (Founder, Gift of Living Donation)
๐ค Host: Dr Oge Ilozue,General Practitioner

We've checked blood pressures all afternoon and answered questions people have been sitting on for years.
That is how the day has gone so far, and we are still going until 8pm.

๐ช๐ต๐ฎ๐ ๐๐ถ๐น๐น ๐๐ฒ ๐น๐ฒ๐ฎ๐๐ฒ ๐ฏ๐ฒ๐ต๐ถ๐ป๐ฑ?
Community historian, Caribbean genealogist and storyteller Linford Sweeney asked the room a simple question: what are we doing to preserve our stories, and what will we leave for the next generation?
His answer was to honour those who came before us through our actions, and to stand together. The resilience of the past isn't only history. It's a blueprint for the future.
So let's start preserving those stories. Tell us what Black History Month means to you, in your own words. A sentence is enough.

Prevention doesn't only happen in a clinic.
Since 2017, CAHN's CATCH model has taken cardiovascular screening into churches, barbershops and community centres. It catches risk early and walks people into care.
