@1957eddie The top teams aren’t usually our biggest downfall. Certainly not of late. It’s the constant dropping of points against average to poor teams. Shambolic today.
@amadeobreezy I thought it was too early and a tad too short in real time, but it was perfect. Required two touches from Bruno and the second was a goal. Perfection
@TuftyMUFC@AdamMcKola Shaw played a lot last season but him and Chuna on the left didn’t work. We needed more energy and attacking threat from the left and that could have been possible with a younger LB. I hope, considering our options, to see Dorgu providing that now from LB
@CallumWebley@UtdHeisenberg_ What people are also forgetting is what we owe in past transfer fees, not the debt. It’s £100ms. Adds to the cash and credit loan challenges.
@BobPete42009550@AngusCapitan@VRytinki@thegarybrecka Coffee is a useful comparison. Caffeine has a ~5-hour half-life, so yes, drinking it later in the day can disrupt sleep even if you feel fine. Same principle with alcohol: dose and timing matter.
@AngusCapitan@VRytinki@BobPete42009550@thegarybrecka Like I said, just because you don’t notice doesn’t mean it isn’t happening. It will literally have an impact. It is true that alcohol is a poison and we literally poison ourselves. I still drink but I know I feel better when I cut down or stop for while.
@AngusCapitan@VRytinki@BobPete42009550@thegarybrecka Controlled studies have found altered sleep even when alcohol was consumed 6 hours before bed, and a 2025 meta-analysis of 27 studies found REM disruption at doses of around 2 standard drinks. You may not notice the effect, but that’s very different from saying there isn’t one.
@AngusCapitan@VRytinki@BobPete42009550@thegarybrecka But it literally does, even if you don’t realise it. It’s just science. I’ve had big nights out, hit the gym the next morning and felt better. But your recovery is simply worse because of the booze.
@AngusCapitan@VRytinki@BobPete42009550@thegarybrecka Even low doses of alcohol can suppress REM sleep, increase sympathetic nervous-system activity and resting HR, & cause more fragmented sleep as alcohol is metabolised. 2 drinks may not give you a hangover, but that doesn’t mean they have zero effect on sleep quality or next-day.
@Malachians Fully agree but there are enough experienced players in that starting 11 for someone to be that man. You don’t have to be captain to do it. Maguire, Shaw, even Maz. Great opportunity for Youri to step up too.
Awful regardless. We’ve been soundless for years now.
